Rose sat on the edge of her bed, scrolling through the messages James had sent her, a faint smile playing on her lips. She was falling deeper for him, even if she sometimes felt like a shadow of someone else. As she lingered over one of his texts*you have no idea how much you mean to me* or *I want to cum on your face bby come over soon*

the door to her room burst open, and Brian stormed in, eyes blazing with fury.

"Are you fucking serious Rose?" Brian's voice was sharp, vibrating with barely contained rage.

Rose looked up, startled. "No brian I didn't eat your curry chicken leave me alone."

"Don't 'Brian' me!" he snapped, pacing the room. "Wah kinda ting dis me a hear seh yaa whore!? And you're fucking James? Rose, mi bloodclaat, a dat type a person u did be? U ever think bout how mummy ago feel if she find out bout dis?"

Rose's heart dropped, her face flushing with embarrassment. "Im not... fucking James !" She said barely making her voice heard after saying the bad word her voice wavering. "Plus he cares about me."

"Cares about you?" Brian's laugh was bitter, cold. " are you fucking dumb? Rose how u fi mek some pussy test mi badness Rose, u have dem man yah all bout, a dat mi hear innuh. Mi hear seh di man dem a muk you to bloodclaat mi cyaa blv dis, My sister? You rose? If dem did say Diamond mi woulda say alright but you? Jesus Christ"

Rose shuddered after hearing "jesus Christ" it felt almost foreign to her ears she knew her brother must be real mad if he's swearing like this. But what he was saying wasn't true, she wasn't having sex with multiple people, she wasn't a muk. Who could possibly be saying these things to him, it couldn't be James who would never do this to her

Tears welled up in Rose's eyes as Brian's words sliced through her. She couldn't stop herself from trembling. "That's not true," she whispered, shaking her head in denial. "Why would you believe who told you this mi nuh stay Suh u know mi."

Brian chuckled "you know a who tell me? James, he told me Rose,"

She chocked on her spit

"James wouldn- no you don't understa-"

"I understand more than you think!" Brian's voice exploded with anger. "James is using you Rose, that isn't obvious to you? How old are you? Why would he want you your barely even mature, he's using you" he said with a crack in his voice almost as if he's about to cry "you're embarrassing this family, do you know what will happen if he tells people that your a whore? You know what that doesn't even matter. Do you know that he threatened me, threatened me.. me rose me. The things I put up with for you and this family!"

He calmed down a bit
"Is it because dad isn't home most of the time? do you have daddy issues? what's the prob-"

Rose gasped, her tears flowing freely now. She couldn't control the sobs that escaped her. "Stop it, Brian! Just stop!"

"Why?" Brian's fists clenched at his sides, his frustration boiling over. "So you can keep living in some fantasy where he'll suddenly care about you? You're better than this, Rose! You're supposed to be smart, but right now you're acting like a complete idiot."

Their mother's voice echoed from downstairs. "Waa happen here Suh, weh di bagga shouting fah?! on up there?"

Brian glared at his sister, chest heaving. "Ask yuh daughter. Mom, your daughter is letting James Blackwood treat her like a doormat, and she's too damn stupid to realize it. All a mek man muk ar out, ask har"

"Brian!" their mother gasped, shocked by the venom in his voice. She looked at Rose, stunned. "Is this true?"

Rose sobbed uncontrollably, unable to speak. Brian's words had shattered the small bubble she had been living in, and the shame was unbearable.

Their mother turned to Brian, her voice shaking with disbelief. "Why would you say that about your sister?"

"Because someone has to!" Brian shot back, still seething. "She's throwing herself at him, letting him use her like she's nothing, and it makes me sick. She's better than this, and she's acting like a fool for someone who doesn't care about her."

Their mother's expression softened as she approached Rose, pulling her into a hug. "Rose, sweetie, is that true? ?"

Brian paced around the room "mam you know what he said to me? He was threatening me, mummy you nuh know weh dah likkle girl yah do innuh, right now mi life inna danger inuh mi cyaa guh go school inna peace"

"Brian you know your father won't let that happen"

Rose could only cry into her mother's shoulder, her entire world collapsing in that moment. The weight of Brian's words, her mother's concern, and the truth she had been avoiding came crashing down on her.

Brian stood by, his anger still simmering, but beneath it was a brother's love. He hated seeing Rose hurt, but he couldn't stand by while she destroyed herself over someone who would never give her what she deserved.

"I'm sorry," Rose whispered through her sobs. "I didn't... I didn't know."

Their mother's eyes filled with sadness as she looked at Brian, then back at Rose. "We'll figure this out, honey," she said gently. "But Brian's right... you deserve better."

Brian, still frustrated, muttered under his breath. "About time you realized that."
He truly didn't care about what type of relationship she had as long as she wasn't treated poorly or being used.

But he feared his family name being slandered, he feared losing Herculeana even now after he just got her back. He wondered if he should call her and tell her how James threatened him. But he didn't want to seem like a bitch. After all *nuh pussy can test him badness*

Rose's heart ached, and though her tears continued to fall, a small part of her knew this was what she needed to hear. The painful truth was better than the comforting lie she had been living.
