Chapter 40
-3rd Person's POV-
Alessandro Di Luca clutched his left shoulder, hissing in pain. The man was pissed. He prides himself as a talented marksman and assassin who never missed a shot and who never gets shot. This was the first time he ever got shot during a mission, albeit it's only a graze, he still hated seeing his own blood spill. He got distracted and the reason for the distraction? A text message from his older brother reminding him to come home in time for their mother's death anniversary this Saturday which is two days from now.
Seeing that message seemingly stopped the process of his brain and only started again when a lanky idiot managed to catch him off guard and grazed his shoulder. Sandro went ballistic until the said lanky idiot was cut into pieces. But he was barely satisfied, if anything he was pissed even more.
He didn't want to come home.
He didn't want to deal with his older brother and uncle.
He didn't want to be reminded of the important people he lost.
He was in a whirlwind of emotions and he can't seem to process them. He was also hurt, not because of the graze in his shoulder or his wounded pride, no, it was a mental type of hurt as he thought of his missing father and sister. Will they ever find them? It frightened the infamous heartless assassin and underboss of the Italian Mafia, not that he would ever admit it.
So what did he do to ease the pain?
He went to see his favorite little nurse.
Via Ramos.
The twenty-three years old Filipina has a spirit as vibrant and colorful as the flowers that bloom in her homeland. She's a woman of passion, warmth, and generosity, her heart overflowing with love and kindness. She's a petite young woman, but always carries herself
with a quiet confidence. With a skin like warm honey, smooth and glowing with a natural radiance, eyes deep and dark, like pools of liquid chocolate. They hold a depth of emotion, a spark of life that draws you in. They can be both playful and serious, reflecting the warmth and strength of her spirit. And her hair is a cascade of black silk, flowing down her back in waves. Her smile is a radiant burst of sunshine, lighting up her entire face. It's a smile that can melt away any worry or sadness, leaving behind a feeling of pure joy. That's how Sandro would describe Via Ramos, the woman he was enamored with.
Sandro's reputation in bed is no secret. He was also the last person in the world one would consider having a relationship with. He simply doesn't love.
But the same thing couldn't be said to the two people he continuously gets involved with. They are his only exceptions. And one of them is Via.
He knows deep inside his heart that he loves her, he wants her, he needs her, but he also knows that he can never get himself committed and settle with only her. That was his greatest conflict. He should've stayed away from the innocent young woman, but he couldn't, after all, what Sandro wants, he gets. And what he wants is a young nurse named Via Ramos.
He winced slightly at the grazed on his shoulder which was now wrapped in a gauze inside his shirt as he knocked on the white wooden door. The door immediately opened and as expected it revealed his favorite little nurse, what he didn't expect was the newborn baby swaddled in a blue blanket she was carrying in her arms. The baby looks like it just turned a month old. Both of them looked at each other in surprise, after all, they didn't see each other for the last eight months because of Sandro's work.
