Chapter 8 - Red's Love Cookie

Auradon Prep
[The next day at classes.]
Girl: Look, It's Red.
Girl 2: Hi, Red! Love my hair, Red!
[Red waves to them as she turns and opens her locker. Hudson approaches her.]
Hudson: Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, It's not so bad here, you know.
Red: Are you insane? [She closes her locker and directs her attention to him.]  Long live Hearts! You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news! Snap out of it!
Hudson: Thanks, Red. I needed that.
Audrey: Do you think they actually paid for those? [Audrey jealous of all the girls new haircuts from Red, conversing with Chloe]
[Hudson walks up the the group of girls.]
Hudson: Oh, hello. The name's Hudson. Are you all going to the tourney game tonight?
Girls: Yeah!
Hudson: Keep a lookout for number 8, all right? Scoring the winning goal.
Girl: Okay!
Audrey: She did it to Jane's hair, too, and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it.
Chloe: What's the harm?
Audrey: It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know it's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will i be? [Chloe notices Audrey's petty jealousy and insecurity.]
Chloe: Listen, Audrey... [Audrey cuts her off.]
Audrey: I will see you at the game after my dress fitting for the coronation, okay?
Chloe: Okay
Audrey: Bye, Charmy [Audrey gives Chloe a kiss on the cheek before leaving]
Chloe: Bye.
Red: [Red Mocks Audrey as she walks up to Chloe.] Hey Charmy
Chloe: Hey. [Chloe turns and looks at Red.]
Red: I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one? [Holding a bag of cookies, the cookies she had made the previous night.]
Chloe: Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game. But thank you so,so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time.
Red: No, Yeah I completely understand. "Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains"
Chloe: No, no, no.
Red: No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that.
Chloe: No, that's not it. No, no, no, I... I really do...
Red: No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess. [As Red goes to eat the Love potion infused cookie, she previously offered Chloe. However before she could eat it, Chloe snatches it from her hands and eats it.]
Chloe: No, no. Hey... see that? Totally trust you. Totally.
Red: How are they?
Chloe: They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're uh...[Chloe loses her composure, trying to process her sudden change of emotion.] I mean, They're chewy and, you know, they... is that walnuts? I love walnuts. [Chester, Gianna, and Hudson slowly approach Red and Chloe, curious to see if the cookie is working.] I mean, uh, you know, the... The chocolate... The... the chocolate... The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet... Red, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?
Hudson: How are you feeling?
Chloe: I feel... I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name. Red, Red.
[Red quickly covers Chloe's mouth with her hand to silence her before anyone noticed and grew suspicious]

Tourney field
All: Ohayohay!
Announcer: This is a nail-biter, folks. There's 47 seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood falcons, two. The fighting knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals.
Hudson: Get 'em, Chad. [Hudson shouts as Chad runs onto the field from the bench.]
Chad: Thanks, Hudson.
Announcer: The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone. Akiho! The Dragoneers have been laying down a withering hail of fire.
Coach: You're up [He says to Hudson]
Announcer: And now for substitution...
Hudson: Coach, how about my buddy here? [Pull Chester off the bench as he stands.]
Coach: Oh, no. Not so sure about that. [Coach chuckles softly.]
Hudson: Coach, He's been practicing
Coach: Hudson...
Hudson: And you said yourself a team is made up of a bunch of parts.
Chester: Hudson, I'm not that good. [insecure about his performance.]
Hudson: Well, he's kind of like my brain [he says as he scruffs up Chesters hair.]
Coach: Come here! [As the coach calls out a player] You heard him. Get out there!
[Chester follows behind Hudson onto the field.]
Hudson: Don't worry, bro. I got your back. [Hitting his shoulder playfully.]
Chester: How about my front?
Hudson: Pfft. Get out there. [The two get into position.]
Announcer: He's bringing that hothead Hudson in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Chester can barely hold up the shield.
All: Break!
Announcer: When they from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is read. Here we go. Long pass goes to Hudson. Hudson dishes off to Princess Chloe. Nice little bloc by Chester. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. And now Hudson gets the ball back. Here comes Hudson! Hudson, hudling maneuver at mid-field.
Chloe: I'm open! [she shouts to Hudson]
Announcer: Hudson makes a pass to Princess Chloe through the kill zone.
Chloe: Hudson!
Announcer: Big block by Prince Chad! Princess Chloe moves over wide, gives it back to Hudson. He's in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Phoebe the Falcon's goalkeeper!
Chloe: Come on! All right, all right, let's do it!
Coach: Come on guys! Come on, hustle, hustle!
Announcer: 23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Husdon. Hudson, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Hudson. Big back from Prince Chad. Hudson dishes off to Princess Chloe. And then Chester, with a big block, goes down. Hudson, through the kill zone, picks up Chester. Oh, he's being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on Hudson, hurdling maneuver at mid-field. He's in the clear. The ball goes back to Hudson.
Chester: Hey, Hudson!
Hudson: Chester? [Hudson runs to Chester, as they perform a similar technique as the previous practice drill.]
Chester: Go up! Chloe! [Chloe runs forward, as Hudson launches the ball towards her.]
Announcer: He passes to Princess Chloe. She scores! Princess Chloe has won it! What an unselfish play by Hudson! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Hudson and Chester, who set up the Princess for the win here. What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come folks. The winners of the first tourn... [Chloe cuts off the announcer as she steals the microphone from him].
Chloe: Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please? There's something I'd like to say... [Chloe, not sure what she is doing, thinks for a moment.] Give me an "R"
All: "R"!
Chloe: Give me and "e"
All: "e"!
Chloe: Give me an "d"
All: "d"!
Chloe: What does that spell?
All: Red!
Chloe: Come on, I can't hear you!
All: Red!
Chloe: I love you, Red! Did I mention that?
Audrey: Oh... [As she runs off in shock]
Gianna: Oh, my god! Cookie!
Red: What was in that cookie! [Gianna and Red laugh softly at this display in front of them.]
[ Audrey comes running back, pulling Chad along with her]
Audrey: Chad's my boyfriend now! And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date. [She tells Chloe, in hopes of making her mad with jealousy. Although to her surprise Chloe ignores her].
All: Whoa! [As Chloe runs into the stands to where Red is standing.]
Chloe: Red! Will you go to the coronation with me?
Red: Yes!
Chloe: She said Yes! [Chloe says with excitement while holding Red's hand.]
Hudson: Let's go, Chloe. The whole team's waiting for you. [nudging her to come follow him back to the team]
Chloe: Yeah
Red: Bye.
[Red looks over at Gianna, who is saddened at the sudden announcement of Audrey and Chad. She had thought Chad was interested in her.]
Red: I feel like if she were talented like you, and she knew how to sew and knew beauty tips, that she wouldn't need a prince to make her feel better about herself.
Gianna: I guess I am kind of talented.
Red: You are definitely gifted.
Gianna: Thanks Red.
Hudson: Yeah, yeah! [He screams as he celebrates with the team]
Announcer: And there he is, Hudson, the most valuable player. How do you like that?

Chemistry Lab
[Gianna digging through her purse]
Mr Deley: Looking for something? [Holding her magic mirror in his hand] Thank you, Chad. It's gratifying to see someone still respects the honor code. It will be my recommendation that you are expelled.
Gianna: Mr. Deley, I...
Ryder: But that isn't fair. Obviously she wasn't cheating since she didn't have that... Whatever it is... [Ryder trying to help Gianna and convince Mr. Deley that he is mistaken.]
Gianna: It's called a magic mir... [Ryder cuts her off before she could worsen the situation.]
Ryder: You're not helping. Stop. [He says to Gianna before turning back to the teacher.] Maybe she needed another pencil.
Gianna: Actually, I was...
Ryder: Really, don't help. Please
Gianna: Please. [Pleading with Mr. Deley to forgive her]
Mr Deley: Well, if you can pass this test, I'll return your property and let the matter drop.

The Picnic Area
[After school,  the test concluded and the results came out. Gianna approaches Ryder to show him her results. She got a B+]
Gianna: For the first time, It's like I'm more than just a pretty face.
Ryder: A shocker, huh? [He says not surprised by the results. He had faith in her]
Gianna: You were pretty great in there [She sits beside him on the bench.]
Ryder: So were  you.
Gianna: I bet I can get an "A" on the next test without the mirror.
Ryder: Yeah. Well, maybe we can get together and We'll hang out with...
Gianna: Yeah, let's get together.
[Red approaches the two, panicking]
Gianna: What's wrong?
Red: Chloe just asked me out on a... on a date.
Ryder: Nice.
Gianna: We can handle this. Bye Ryder.
Ryder: Bye.
[Gianna gets up,  her and Red walk towards the dorm]
Gianna: You're looking a little pale.
Red: Yeah, of course.
Gianna: I can fix that with some gloss and some blush.
Red: No!
Gianna: Red, I can use the...
Red: No, no, no. [Red is purely freaking out.]
