"Wait. What do you mean "you knew it was going to happen"" Stiles questioned her.
He was no longer sitting beside her on the hood of the Jeep, but now standing in front of her a small distance away.
"I saw it" she repeated in a whisper, curling further in on herself.
"What do you mean you "saw it" how did you see it?" he asked rapidly, his questions already loaded.
"I don't know"
"How could-"
"I don't know Stiles" she answered back more harshly, sad at his change in behavior towards her and irritated that he was interrogating her yet again.
Stiles turned away from her, taking a deep breath and running his hand over his head before turning back.
Jasmine noticed he had tried to calm himself down before asking the next question.
"What is it exactly that you saw"
This time, he took a step towards her, eyes narrowed in confusion.
"It's kinda hard to explain" she mumbled out.
He waited patiently for her to continue, not interrupting. But Jasmine could see in his eyes that he was itching for answers, so she continued.
"They come in like.. flashes" she said shutting her eyes and shaking her head, the flashes from the locker room reappearing in her mind.
"It's kinda like watching a movie" she continued. "I don't get to choose what I see or how much I see, but there's like this flashing, almost as if.. When you take a photo with a camera, with the flash on. I get little scene of things, images sometimes. Sometimes there's people in it sometimes there's not. It's only happened a couple of times" she was nervously picking at the rips in her jeans as she spoke, not looking up at Stiles once.
Stiles nodded slowly, processing the information he was just given, before asking another question. "What did you see tonight?"
He took another step closer to the girl, her barely looking up at him as he moved closer.
She felt like a caged animal, a lion at the zoo. And Stiles was the zoo keeper. Slowly and cautiously approaching the predator, alert for any sort of movement that showed signs of aggression.
"It happened at school" she began. "That's why I was in the locker room when you know.." she trailed off and he nodded at her to continue. "I had seen something in the hallway, a-a tail kinda like a reptile. So I ran into the locker room and then the flashing began. I saw the library, and then I saw the lights shattering. For some reason I then saw that kid- the one who was in there with us" she looked up at him for confirmation, wanting to be sure he knew who she was talking about before continuing "but something about him in the flash was so eerie. He had this-this sinister smirk, I don't know."
She trailed off before starting again, "And then I saw Jackson. Just as he was before he jumped out of the window, it played out almost exactly how I had seen it. The only difference was in my-my flash he didn't have scales and you know, the thing with his eyes. He was still normal, but he looked almost dead, like a puppet. And in my flash he wrote something different too. He-he, He wrote the word "die""
By the time Jasmine had finished recounting what she had seen, her eyes had filled with tears.
"I-I don't know why this is happening Stiles" her voice was cutting in and out as she spoke. "I don't know why I'm seeing these things, or what any of them mean. I promise I don't. Please don't be scared of me." At that, she could no longer hold back her tears and began to sob.
