The plant had gone to shit.
Jasmine and Stiles' celebration was interrupted by the buzzing of his phone.
It was from Isaac.
As Stiles read the messaged he glance over to Jasmine who was reading it over his shoulder.
"Oh thank god" she breathed out a sigh of relief as she had read that Erica and Isaac were successful in subduing Jackson.
Her eyes met Stiles and she could practically see the debate he was having with himself swimming through them.
And when more gunshot rang out, he decided to bring her with him.
He didn't want her to step foot anywhere near imminent danger. Bringing her with him to see Jackson would be forcing her into that position. But he couldn't exactly leave her here alone while, what sounded like, a war rang out between hunters and werewolves.
He could always give her the keys and tell her to drive off, but that would mean leaving himself as well as his friends stranded.
So he brought her with him.
"Let's go" he said before the two made their way to what looked to be a small storage room attached to the main building.
As soon as they entered Jasmine saw from around Stiles' shoulder Erica about to attack and Isaac backing up into a defensive position.
"WOAH! NO, NO, NO!" Stiles immediately shouted trying to diffuse their angst "It's just us, It's just us" throwing his hands up in a defensive position. Jasmine stepped closer to Stiles, placing her hand on his shoulder ready to pull him back.
He glanced back at the girl behind him quickly before turning back to the two werewolves saying "Don't freak" before grabbing the hand Jasmine had on his shoulder, and leading the two into the small room. He then dropped her hand and closed the door behind them.
As Erica and Isaac scooted over to make room for the newcomers, Jasmine couldn't peel her eyes away from Jackson, the memories of him halfway transformed in the library clawed at her mind along with the paralyzing fear that suffocated her at the thought of the creature from her dreams springing to life from deep within Jackson's unconscious body.
She was broken out of her trance as Stiles stepped in front of her holding eye contact before bringing his hands to her shoulders to not only steady the girl, but to gently push her to the back of the group, as much out of harms way as he could.
And even though Stiles hadn't uttered a word to her, his eyes had said it all.
They had told her that everything would be okay, reassured her that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. And she believed him.
But she also felt cowardly.
She had only tagged along so that she could keep Stiles safe. To support him and keep him from drowning in his dark thoughts about blaming himself for what had happened to his father. And here he was, protecting and reassuring her.
It was then and there she decided to swallow her fear.
She couldn't have Stiles worried about her. Not right now. The situation was too important.
So when he turned and sent her one last glance, she hardened her face and sent him a nod.
"Is he okay?" Stiles asked the two betas.
"Well." Isaac replied, before stepping up to the sleeping Kanima. "Let's find out."
He then balled his fist up before flinging out his hand, revealing claws instead of fingernails. And as he drew his arm back to attack Jackson, Jasmine couldn't help but yell out "What the fuck are you doing?"
