I stepped out of the shadows, my eyes fixed on the girl with the ethereal glow. She was a Luminari, no doubt about it. The way she moved with an otherworldly grace, the soft luminescence surrounding her like an aura - it all screamed innocence.
I snorted, a bitter taste forming in my mouth. Innocence was a luxury I couldn't afford. Not in this world, not in my life.
As I approached her, the moon casting an eerie glow on the deserted street, I could sense her fear. It was intoxicating, a heady scent that drew me in like a moth to flame.
"Kael Darkhaven," she whispered, her voice trembling.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You know my name, little one?"
She nodded, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and fascination. "I've heard stories."
I chuckled, low and husky. "I'm sure you have."
Without thinking, I reached out and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Her skin was like silk, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through me.
