I couldn't believe I'd let him touch me. Kael Darkhaven, the badboy with a reputation for darkness and danger. His fingers had sent shivers down my spine, and for a moment, I'd forgotten the warnings, the stories, the fear.

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw the glint of mischief, the promise of trouble. I knew I had to get away from him.

"Kael, please," I said, trying to sound firm. "Leave me alone."

He chuckled, the sound low and husky. "Oh, Luna, I'm just getting started."

Without warning, he reached out and wrapped his hand around my wrist. His touch was like a spark, igniting a fire that spread through my veins.

I tried to pull away, but he held tight. "Let me go, Kael."

"Or what?" he whispered, his breath hot against my ear. "You'll tell the Luminari? They'll protect you from the big bad wolf?"

I felt a surge of anger. "You don't understand anything."

"Oh, but I do," he said, his eyes glinting in the moonlight. "I understand that you're curious, that you want to know the secrets I keep. And I'll show them to you, Luna. If you dare."
