Hades

I can hear her via our mind link, but I cannot see her. Even her beautiful honey and lily scent is dull, and had I not been a Lycan, I would have missed it.

It leads me to a clearing in the forest on the other side of the bar.

I ordered pack members to stay away. The concern from those in the pub as she disappeared was palpable, but if they came with me, it would just frighten her.

She didn't just disappear, she took all the light with her. Craven was trying to restore electricity to the pub.

It also seems that she has become invisible. My eyes have adjusted to the darkness, yet I still cannot see her, though her scent here is more potent. And her thoughts are louder.

A diatribe of what ifs about what could have happened and what everyone must be thinking of her.

"Addie." Her thoughts are silent, and then I hear her.

"Hades." It comes from a few feet in front of me.

"I can't see you sunflower." I take a step forward and then reach out.

"I don't know how I'm doing this. I don't know how I did that in there. And everyone was looking at me, so I panicked and ran. How do I stop this?" She sounds afraid, and it breaks my heart. No one has taught her how to control her magic, and I'm no witch, so I don't really know what to do. However, I know how to calm myself down when my Lycan feels like it wants to take over. And I do know how to be there for her.

"Take my hand, sunflower." There is silence, and then the next minute, I feel the familiar sparks as her fingertips touch my outstretched hand. I move forward and link our hands together before gently pulling her forward and into my embrace.

"I'm here, so don't be afraid. I won't let anything happen to you." I stroke her hair and then push my feelings of calm down our bond, hoping it will help her.

"Try to clear your mind. That's what I do when I feel like I might lose control and when my Lycan pushes me for the reigns." I wait, but the chatter in her head continues.

"I can distract you." She pulls back, and I wish I could see her expression, but I can imagine it. Her eyebrows pinched together, and her mouth slightly apart.

"How?" Instead of fear, she sounds excited.

"Must I show you?" There is no mistaking the shiver of her body against mine, and when she speaks again, it comes out a whisper.

"Yes."

My hand, which has been stroking her back, moves slowly up. I trail my fingers up the column of her neck, along her jawline, before cupping her face. My thumb finds her lips, which are slightly parted, and I drag the digit down, pulling the bottom lip with it.

She moans and then stiffens in my arms.

"Don't hold back, Addie. I can't see you, so those sounds are the only way I know you are enjoying this."

She says nothing, but I can feel her lips lift as she smiles.

My heart beats faster as the moment I have been literally dreaming of non-stop for months sits on the precipice of becoming real. The second time today. And then our lips meet. It is like kissing her for the first time all over again. She melts in my arms, and then we consume each other. It's like losing yourself in another until all concepts of time, reality, and existence fly out the window. Tongues clash, and her hands reach up, intertwining in my hair as mine do in hers. It's breathtaking, and when we finally pull away, gasping for air, beautiful glittering green eyes stare back at me.
