"Jennie, this arrangement was never about what we want for ourselves. It's about what's expected of us."
"I understand the duty, Taehyung, but it's hard to ignore the silence between us. It feels like we're bound by an agreement we both hesitate to...

The morning light cast a serene glow over the Kim residence, its calm in contrast to the anticipation that hung thick in the air. Mrs. Kim and Jisoo were finalizing the look for the night. The light blue dress with its diamond accents had already arrived, and it hung by the window, sparkling in the sunlight.
"Jisoo, the diamonds catch the light perfectly," Mrs. Kim admired, running her hand lightly over the delicate fabric. "It's going to look stunning under the evening lights."
Jisoo smiled, excitement bubbling up. "It's perfect. I just can't believe it's happening tonight."
Mrs. Kim placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "You’ve earned it, dear. This engagement will be beautiful, and you will be the star of it."

Downstairs, Lia was pacing the living room, phone glued to her ear. Though the engagement was to be held at a luxurious venue later in the evening, she ensured that everything was running smoothly from the comfort of their home. Her voice was firm, commanding respect on the other end of the line.
“Make sure the floral arrangements stay in soft pastels,” she said firmly, pacing around the room. “No bright colors. And please, ensure the diamond accents in the lighting align with the elegance of the event. We don’t want anything too overpowering.”
"I need those lights to be dimmed during the entrance," she instructed the decorators. "And make sure the floral centerpieces are aligned with Jisoo's dress—soft pastels only, no bright colors. This isn't a garden party."
Just as Lia was about to call the caterers, the door to the Kim residence creaked open, and in walked Jungkook. He strode in casually, dressed in dark slacks and a fitted black shirt, his eyes scanning the room with that familiar ease. The hum of activity filled the space, but his presence, quiet and composed, seemed to cut through it.
Lia glanced up from the corner of her eye, her fingers still flying over her phone as she typed a quick message. She didn’t stop working but acknowledged him with a brief nod. "Taehyung’s in his study," she said, her tone clipped but professional.
Jungkook chuckled softly, stepping further into the room. "I wasn’t even going to ask yet. Busy, as usual?" He tilted his head slightly, his voice teasing. "Don’t you wanna take a break? Enjoy by at least talking to someone?"
Lia, her focus still on her phone, shrugged without looking at him. "Someone has to keep things running. This engagement isn’t going to organize itself." She finally hit the send button and turned her full attention to him. "Anyway, why are you here? For Taehyung?"
