Hades
The next morning I returned from walking Cerberus, and was about to text Ava good morning when I got a text from my assistant.

Sir, we have a problem at the gates and we need you and Cerberus asap.

Sighing I stuff my phone into my pocket, pick Cerberus's leash back up and off we went. I release Cerberus when we reach the gate, and he sets off to work pushing a large portion of the souls back that we're trying to escape. Once the gate was back to being calm, I heading off to my office looking over my schedule.

Rebecca you need to stop cramming so much stuff into
my schedule, and you double booked my meeting at 2.
You'll have to call one of them a reschedule. From now
on I want my schedule to be not as packed and I will
Be leaving the office from now on at 4.
Yes sir, I will make sure your schedule is less restricting.

Satisfied, that Rebecca understands I get to my office to start my long day. Rebecca met me at my office door with a cup of coffee, and the files I have to review before my first meeting. I take the files and the mug of coffee before going in and sitting behind my desk. I sip my coffee while flipping through the files, just as I close the last one Rebecca walks in carrying a large stack of  papers.
"Sir you need to review these and sign them," Rebecca says, setting them down on my desk and gathering the files I just finished reading.
"Sometimes I can't tell who the boss is around here," I mutter to myself, as I check my watch. Rebecca looks at me before taking a seat.
"I'm sorry sir, I guess I just got used to telling you what to do. After you lost Persephone you were lost and didn't do anything unless it was put in front of you. I'm glad you're doing better now, I'm more than happy to go back to how things were before," she says looking down at her lap.
"It's ok, you don't have to apologize. You're right, I was in the slumps after losing Persephone, but I'm doing much better. Honestly I have been for a while now, I just let you continue until now because I wasn't motivated anymore, but that's not true anymore," I reply, leaning back thinking of Ava.
"I had a feeling that was the case. So what's her name if I may be so bold to ask."
"Her name is Ava, but she's not the reason I want to be in control again. I need to get my life in order for myself. I hope someday when the time is right, as long as she excepts me and all this, you'll get to meet her."
"I look forward to meeting the woman who can bring that smile back to your face. I'm about to order lunch, what would you like?" She asks, pulling a pen and notepad out.
"I think I'll have a bowl of tomato bisque with a grilled cheese, please," I reply looking at the clock on my desk to see that it is indeed going on noon. Rebecca jots down my lunch order before leaving me to go through these new files.
It is nine in the evening by the time I finish all the paperwork Rebecca had been trying to get me to work through for a few months now. I was determined to get it all don't so I would be caught up and be able to have more time to myself and for Ava.  I stand up stretching my back out, as I set the last of the finished paperwork with the rest. I grab Cerberus's leash from my desk and head to the gates to fetch him. On our walk home I realize I hadn't had the chance all day to text Ava, nor had I heard anything from her. I'm sure she's ok, probably just got busy with her classes and homework, maybe I should call her, I think pulling my phone out. Oh she might be in bed already, I'll send her a text when I get home after walking Cerberus. Cerberus apparently decided that he wanted a long walk tonight, and refused to head back towards home. By the time I was finally able to drag Cerberus  home and into the house, I was exhausted. I quickly give Cerberus his dinner, before hoping in the shower, and crawling into bed. Picking my phone up I see that it is almost eleven, with a sigh I send Ava a text knowing she's most likely asleep. Setting my phone back on the nightstand, I lay down as Cerberus hops up onto the bed, and fall asleep, promising to talk to her tomorrow.
