Yeonjun had never been this nervous about anything in his life.
Not the time he had to perform in front of a crowd of 1,000 people.
Not the time he accidentally sent his mom a text meant for Beomgyu (a text that definitely wasn't appropriate for moms).
But sitting in front of his closet, trying to decide what to wear for coffee with Soobin?
This was peak anxiety.
"What do people even wear to coffee date— no- not a date, just a casual hangout." The boy mumbled to himself, trying to disregard the heat rising up to his cheeks.
Yeonjun groaned, throwing another shirt into the ever-growing pile of rejected outfits. "I can't show up looking like I tried too hard, but I can't look like I didn't try at all."
Beomgyu, who was sprawled on Yeonjun's bed, scrolling through his phone, barely glanced up. "Bro, it's just coffee. Chill."
Yeonjun shot him a look. "Just coffee? I spilled soda on him yesterday, Beomgyu. I can't mess this up."
Beomgyu snorted. "You're overthinking it. Soobin already said yes, didn't he? Dimples and all. Just show up, be yourself, and maybe try not to knock over anything this time."
Yeonjun groaned again, burying his face in his hands. "I can't stop thinking about those dimples."
"Clearly," Beomgyu said, voice dripping with amusement. "But here's a tip, he probably likes you, man. If you weren't so wrapped up in your own panic, you'd see it."
Yeonjun frowned. Did Soobin really like him? He wasn't so sure.
Sure, Soobin had smiled when he spilled the soda and even said yes to coffee, but there was no way someone as sweet and cool as Soobin would actually be into someone who tripped over their words and their own feet.
"I'm screwed," Yeonjun muttered.
"You'll be fine," Beomgyu said with a lazy shrug. "Now pick a shirt, because if you spend any longer deciding, you'll be late."
Yeonjun finally grabbed a plain white tee and threw on a jacket. It was simple, safe, but not too casual. He hoped.

The coffee shop was warm and cozy, the smell of fresh pastries filling the air. Yeonjun arrived ten minutes early and was now sitting at a small table by the window, tapping his foot anxiously. His phone buzzed, and he checked it to see a message from Soobin.
Soobin 🐰
Omw! Sorry I'm a little late 😅Yeonjun exhaled in relief. At least Soobin was still coming. But now he had more time to stress over every possible thing that could go wrong.
What if he spilled coffee this time? Or said something stupid? Or—
Before his thoughts could spiral any further, the bell over the door jingled, and Yeonjun looked up to see Soobin walking in, his tall frame impossible to miss.
He had on a soft hoodie, his hair slightly tousled like he hadn't spent too much time getting ready—and somehow, he looked perfect.
Of course he did.
"Hey!" Soobin greeted him with a bright smile as he approached the table, dimples in full effect.
Oh, fuck. Yeonjun was doomed.
"Hey," Yeonjun managed, trying not to sound too breathless. "You're fine, don't worry about it."
Soobin sat down across from him, taking a moment to look around the shop. "This place is cute. I've never been here before."
Yeonjun nodded, his hands gripping his coffee cup a little too tight. "Yeah, I come here sometimes. Thought it'd be a good spot to, uh, talk."
Soobin smiled again, and Yeonjun swore he could hear his heart pounding in his ears. Focus, man, focus.
"So..." Soobin started, leaning in a little. "I never really got to say it, but thanks for asking me ou— asking me to hang out. It was... unexpected. But it's nice."
Yeonjun blinked. Did he hear that right? "Wait, you're... happy I asked?"
Soobin gave a small laugh, nodding. "Yeah, of course. I thought it was kinda cute, honestly."
Cute.
Yeonjun's brain was officially fried. Soobin thought he was cute? After the soda incident and the awkward invitation? He couldn't believe it.
"I—uh—I'm really glad," Yeonjun said, stumbling over his words. "I mean, I was worried you'd think I was... I don't know, weird or something."
Soobin shook his head, his smile softening. "Not weird. Just... charming. In a unique way."
Charming?
Yeonjun was sure he was turning red. He cleared his throat, desperate to keep it together. "So, uh, do you wanna order something? Coffee's kinda the point of a coffee—" Yeonjun paused a bit, is he supposed to say date? Hang out?
"—uh yeah, coffee is the point of this, right?"
Soobin chuckled, and Yeonjun almost melted on the spot. "Yeah, let's get something."
As they stood in line together, Yeonjun felt his nerves start to ease. Maybe Beomgyu was right. Maybe he could do this. Soobin didn't seem to mind his awkwardness. In fact, he seemed to... like it.
They ordered their drinks, and as they sat back down, Soobin leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. "You're a lot more nervous than I thought you'd be."
Yeonjun blinked, caught off guard by the bluntness. "What do you mean?"
"I don't know," Soobin said, a teasing glint in his eyes. "You just seem so... confident most of the time. But right now? You look like you're about to pass out."
Yeonjun laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, well, you make it kinda hard to stay cool."
Soobin raised an eyebrow. "Me?"
"Yeah, you," Yeonjun said, feeling bold for a split second. "You and those dimples of yours. They should be illegal."
