Felix POV-

The sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows across the campus of Jeongguk University. As students trickled out of classrooms, laughter and chatter filled the air, blending into a vibrant symphony of youthful energy. Among the throng was Lee Felix, a charming and brilliant college student with tousled blonde hair and an easy smile. However, today, a lingering sense of unease sat in his chest, and he felt out of place amidst the vibrancy around him.

After a tedious day of lectures, Felix longed for something to break the monotony of his routine—a moment of excitement, something beyond the ordinary. He stepped out of the main building, the fading sunlight warming his skin, and began his walk home through the expansive campus grounds.

As he strolled along the cobblestone paths lined with trees, Felix took in the sights around him. Groups of students congregated on the grass, some studying, others laughing and sharing stories from their day. Despite the lively atmosphere, a restlessness simmered within him, leaving him yearning for something more.

Suddenly, something caught his eye—a glimmer of black against the lush green grass in the courtyard. Curious, he approached the unusual sight, kneeling down to examine what appeared to be a notebook. It was bound in sleek black leather, with the words "Death Note" embossed in stark, white font. A shiver ran down his spine at the sight of it. What an odd name for a notebook.

He glanced around, but the courtyard was mostly deserted, save for a few distant figures engrossed in their conversations. It seemed he had stumbled upon something unusual, and the thrill of discovery ignited a spark of excitement within him. Felix picked it up, feeling the weight of it in his hands, and flipped it open. The pages were blank, save for a few handwritten rules that sent a chill through him.

"The human whose name is written in this notebook shall die."

Felix laughed nervously, the sound echoing in the stillness around him. It had to be a prank—an elaborate joke set up by some bored student. Yet, as he read on, a morbid curiosity began to brew inside him. The rules detailed the power to control life and death, specifying that the victim would die within forty seconds unless a specific cause of death was provided.

He felt a knot tighten in his stomach as he processed the words. What if it was real? The thought was both thrilling and terrifying. Images of criminals and wrongdoers flashed in his mind, and for a fleeting moment, a sense of power surged within him. But as quickly as it came, fear clawed at him. He could never actually use this.

Felix stood up, gripping the Death Note tightly in his hands. No. This was too much. The very idea of possessing such power filled him with dread. He could feel the weight of the notebook pressing against his chest, a reminder of the dark potential it held. He shook his head, as if trying to physically dispel the thoughts swirling in his mind.

After a long day of classes, Felix found himself in his dorm room, the Death Note sprawled open on his desk like a dark secret waiting to be unleashed. The clock on the wall ticked softly, a reminder that time was fleeting and every moment held weight. He picked up the pen, his fingers trembling.

The rush of adrenaline coursed through him, but with it came an overwhelming sense of dread. What if this wasn't just a joke? What if he really could kill someone with this? The thought made him shudder. How could he even think about using it?

With a mix of fear and hesitation, he glanced at the clock, the second hand ticking away. He could feel his heart racing, the reality of what he held in his hands sinking in. What was he thinking?

But in a moment of desperation, he found himself writing down the name of Kang Minseok, the notorious gang leader whose exploits filled the news. It was a reflex, an impulse driven by a mixture of curiosity and the hope that this could be a way to rid the world of people like him.

As soon as he wrote the name, the weight of his decision crashed over him like a tidal wave. He stood frozen, unable to comprehend what he had just done. The clock ticked loudly in the silence of his room as he whispered the rules to himself, repeating them like a mantra. "Forty seconds... unless a cause of death is specified."

His heart raced as he began to count down silently in his mind. Forty... thirty-nine... thirty-eight... Each number felt like a countdown to his own sanity unraveling.

Just as he reached the final seconds, the silence was shattered by the sound of his phone buzzing loudly on his desk. Felix's heart dropped as he grabbed it, fingers trembling as he opened the notification. The headline read: "Kang Minseok Found Dead in His Cell—Cause of Death: Heart Attack."

The world around him faded away, and a shocked gasp escaped his lips. No way. It had worked. The power was real! The realization sent a shockwave of exhilaration through him, but it was quickly replaced by a tide of nausea.

What had he just done?

He leaned against his desk, breathless. The adrenaline that had surged through him moments ago dissipated, leaving only a gnawing fear. Felix's heart raced as he grappled with the implications of his actions. He had just taken a life.

The thrill of having power turned into a heavy burden as the weight of the decision settled over him. He could still hear the news anchor's voice in his head, announcing the shocking death of a criminal that society had condemned. Was this justice?

Felix sank into his chair, staring blankly at the Death Note, the implications of his actions crashing down around him. It felt like a nightmare, and he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that clawed at his insides.

What did this mean for him?

He felt trapped between the intoxicating allure of power and the terror of what it meant to wield it. Felix didn't want to be a monster. He didn't want to become the very thing he sought to eradicate. The darkness that lingered in his heart was suffocating, and he feared it would consume him.

Days turned into a blur as the news of Minseok's death dominated the headlines. Speculation swirled, and law enforcement was baffled, but Felix felt detached from it all. He couldn't enjoy the power he had just tasted; instead, he was consumed by doubt and fear.

Each day, he would pick up the Death Note, staring at its pages, the power within both exhilarating and terrifying. He wanted to believe he could use it for good, to rid the world of evil, but the fear of becoming a killer gnawed at him. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was stepping into darkness, and the more he thought about it, the more resistance surged within him.

Felix found himself grappling with a moral dilemma he had never anticipated. Was he ready to walk this path? The thought of taking another life sent chills down his spine. With each passing day, he battled against the temptation to use the Death Note again. The fear of becoming a monster lingered like a shadow, taunting him.

Yet, despite the fear and resistance, there was an undeniable thrill in knowing he could change the world. But at what cost? He didn't want to lose himself in this darkness; he craved control, but he feared it would come at a price too great to pay.

As he gazed at the Death Note, Felix wrestled with his thoughts, the conflicting desires clawing at his sanity. He needed to understand what he had awakened within himself, but for now, he was scared. Scared of the power he possessed and the monster he feared he could become.
