Felix POV-

Felix sat motionless on the edge of his bed, his eyes locked on the black notebook sprawled before him. The Death Note, its sleek leather cover reflecting the soft glow of his desk lamp, held a power he hadn't fully understood until now. But as the days passed, the fear that had gripped him began to loosen its hold, replaced by something far stronger.

Determination.

Two men had already died by his hand—two criminals, vile and corrupt. But instead of guilt, Felix felt something unexpected. Relief. The world was a better place without them. Kang Minseok had terrorised neighbourhoods, extorted the weak, and ruined countless lives. Lee Jinwoo, his accomplice, was no better—just another leech sucking the life out of innocent people. By removing them, hadn't Felix done something good?

His heart raced as the realization washed over him. For the first time, it wasn't fear, but purpose that surged through his veins. This power, the power of the Death Note, wasn't a curse. It was a gift. A way to cleanse the world of its filth.

This is what I was meant for.

The thought hit him with a clarity that was almost frightening. Felix stood up, pacing back and forth in his small dorm room. Outside, students laughed and carried on with their carefree lives, oblivious to the dark potential he held. They didn't know the kind of evil that lurked beyond their little bubbles of comfort. The world was rotting from within, and no one was doing anything about it.

But I can. I will.

He stopped in front of his desk, eyes burning with resolve as he looked at the Death Note again. It wasn't enough to kill just two. The world was filled with people like Kang Minseok, criminals who took advantage of the weak and preyed on the innocent. How many more would suffer if they were allowed to live? How many more would die at their hands?

Felix's mind raced back to the countless news reports he had seen, stories of murderers, rapists, corrupt politicians, and human traffickers. They walked free, hidden behind the law's inefficiencies, their crimes shrugged off as mere statistics. Felix gritted his teeth in frustration. The system was broken. Law enforcement couldn't do what needed to be done. They were shackled by bureaucracy, by ethics and rules that criminals exploited.

But not him. Not anymore.

Felix picked up the Death Note, feeling its weight in his hands. He could fix this world. He could reshape it, rid it of all the people who caused suffering. He wasn't bound by the same constraints as the law. He was above them now.

With this power, I can be justice.

His reflection stared back at him from the darkened window, and for the first time, Felix saw something different in himself. Not just the bright, smiling student that everyone else saw. Beneath that surface, there was a fire, a conviction that was growing stronger with every second. He wasn't just going to use the Death Note—he was going to change the world with it.

The world is rotten.

Felix's thoughts echoed the very sentiment that had been brewing in his mind for weeks now, a conclusion he had been too afraid to admit until this moment. Humanity was flawed—corrupt, greedy, violent. No matter how many protests or petitions were signed, no matter how many police or courts existed, evil always found a way to thrive.

But he would stop it. He could create a new world, one where only those who were pure, those who followed the rules, would survive. A world without crime, without suffering.

Felix's heart pounded in his chest as the magnitude of his realization settled in. He wasn't just some student anymore. He wasn't Lee Felix, the ordinary boy from Jeongguk University.

He was a god in the making.

"I will become the god of this new world." The words escaped his lips before he even realized it. And the moment they did, Felix knew there was no turning back.

He glanced at the Death Note, the pen beside it gleaming under the light. This is the only way. With this notebook, he could rid the world of its worst. One by one, he could erase them, and soon, fear would grip the hearts of every criminal. They would know that someone—something—was watching them, ready to deliver judgment.

The Death Note wasn't just a weapon; it was the future. His future.

Felix sat back down, opening his laptop. His fingers flew across the keyboard as he searched for more names—criminals who had escaped justice, notorious figures who walked free despite their horrific deeds. The world was full of them, and their names would fill these pages. He would become the executioner they feared. I will change everything.

As the results appeared on his screen, Felix clicked on a news article about an international arms dealer responsible for hundreds of deaths. He copied the name, glancing at the clock before scribbling it into the Death Note. A familiar surge of adrenaline coursed through him as he counted the seconds, waiting for the inevitable.

Forty seconds. And then it was done.

Another one, gone.

Felix leaned back in his chair, heart still racing. The exhilaration he felt was like nothing else. It wasn't just about the power—it was about what that power meant. He had the ability to decide who lived and who died. He could weed out the worst of humanity and create a world where people didn't have to fear crime anymore.

He was justice now.

The hours passed by in a blur as Felix wrote name after name, each stroke of the pen sealing the fate of yet another person he deemed unworthy of life. Corrupt CEOs, violent criminals, human traffickers—the list grew longer, and with it, Felix's resolve. The more he wrote, the more certain he became that this was his destiny.

The media, however, hadn't yet caught on to what was happening. Murmurs of an epidemic of heart attacks swirled around the news, but no one had connected the dots yet. Felix smirked to himself. They'll figure it out soon enough.

As he stretched his arms, feeling the fatigue finally hit, a thought crossed his mind. He had taken the first step toward changing the world, but he needed to remain hidden. He had to be careful, make sure no one could trace this back to him.

His phone buzzed, pulling him from his thoughts. It was Jisung, sending a meme as usual. Felix chuckled softly, shaking his head. Even as his life changed in ways no one could imagine, his friends remained blissfully unaware. And that's how it had to be. No one could know about the Death Note.

For now, Felix would play the part of the cheerful, bright college student that everyone knew. But beneath that mask, he was something much more dangerous. He was the one rewriting the world, one name at a time.
