The fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting a warm glow across the study. The light flickered over the ancient tomes lining the shelves, dancing shadows playing along the walls. Orion Black sat in his favorite armchair, a thick, leather-bound book open in his lap. He wore a contented expression, the deep lines of his face softened in the firelight. A steaming cup of tea rested on the side table, the comforting scent of chamomile filling the room.

Orion turned a page slowly, savoring the quiet of the evening. It was moments like these he had longed for in his younger years—simple, unhurried, filled with the peace that only comes from a life well-lived. He took a slow sip from his tea, allowing its warmth to spread through him, easing the lingering aches of age.

Suddenly, the sound of quick footsteps filled the hallway, followed by a burst of laughter. Orion's heart warmed at the familiar sounds. He looked up just as the door to the study swung open, and two small figures came rushing in. His grandchildren, their eyes bright and their cheeks flushed with excitement, dashed across the room toward him.

"Grandfather!" they cried in unison, their voices ringing with joy.

Orion set his book aside with a chuckle, opening his arms wide to receive them. The children barreled into him, wrapping their tiny arms around his neck, and he hugged them close, feeling their youthful energy seep into his old bones.

"There's my little rascals," he said softly, his voice full of affection. "Have you been having fun today?"

The children nodded enthusiastically, each trying to outdo the other with tales of their adventures in the garden and the games they had played. Orion listened with a smile, his heart swelling with pride and love. He ruffled their hair gently, laughing at their animated stories.

As he looked up from the children, he noticed the doorway was now filled with more familiar faces. His sons, Sirius and Regulus, stood side by side, each with an arm around their wife. Abigail and Daffodil smiled warmly, watching the scene unfold. And there, standing slightly apart, was Walburga, her face softened by a rare smile of her own. The years had changed her too, but there was still a glint in her eyes that spoke of the formidable woman she had always been.

For a moment, Orion felt the weight of all his years lift. His family, his legacy, stood before him—happy, united, and thriving. The darkness that had once loomed over the Black name had been banished, replaced by light and love. This was what he had fought for, what he had sacrificed so much to protect. This was his peace.

He beckoned them all in, wanting to share this perfect moment. As the family gathered around him, laughter filled the room, blending with the soft crackle of the fire. Orion sat back, his heart full, knowing that he had finally found what he had always sought—a home where he could let his peace go free.
