Anicka's POV:

I made my way towards the studio. The director, Ishita, was already waiting for me.

"Anicka! Good morning. I hope you found your way here okay. We're just waiting for Ekta ma'am to get here and then we'll begin with the prep. In the meanwhile, why don't you make yourself comfortable and head over to the conference room."

"Thank you so much Ishita,'' I conveyed with a warm smile.

A wave of fear rushes through me but I shrug it off reminding myself that everything will turn out fine. I am Anicka Sharma and nothing can get the better of me.

With renewed confidence, I opened the door to the conference room.

There was someone already present and as he turned his head to look towards me, I stopped in my tracks. It felt as if all the air had just been sucked out of the room. A jolt went through my body and I visibly shivered. No, this cannot be happening. Please tell me this is not real. I pinched myself and the figure in front me didn't waver.

For the first time, I realised that I had absolutely no idea what to do.

Siwet's POV:

What the fuck. What the actual fuck. I can't breathe. I cannot move. I'm rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do next. I didn't expect this. 6 months. It had been 6 months since I last saw her.

Despite my shock, I couldn't help but notice she looked fricking hot. She was wearing a blush pink jumpsuit with stilettos and diamond earrings. Needless to say, she turned heads. Not just with her looks but with her winning personality. It was one of the things I loved the most about her. She lit up every room she walked in.

She looked at me now with the same expression I had seen numerous times. She was as astonished as I was but her expression was also blended with contemplation and a little confusion.

I hesitated.

I'm not certain of how she will react. We haven't been in touch ever since those last hours spent in the Splitsvilla house. I highly doubted we could have a pleasant conversation without completely having an emotional breakdown or shouting our heads off.

But to my utmost surprise, she slipped a smile onto her lips and stepped closer.

"Hey," she said softly.

"Hey yourself," I replied, dubious of how this will go. "How...um...are you?"

It's not enough. I know it isn't. But it has to be one of the most common sentences in the English Language for a reason.

"I'm good," she murmured.

"And how's the...."

I stop.

How's the everything. How is everything in your life and all that's happened in the six months since I knew every tiny thing that happened in each day and night and all the thoughts in between.

"Great," she says, scratching her ear. "All of it, yeah, great."

I try to read her, understand what she's truly thinking. But I can't. Either she's gotten really good at having a hold on her emotions or I'm so far away now that I'm not able to see it. For my sanity, I hope it's the former.

It never used to be like this.

Things between Anicka and I were always ... easy. Whether I was close to breaking down, or she was scared that things won't work out, we always knew how to communicate with each other.

But now her face seems sad and distant.

"And you?" she says, clearing her throat. "How are you?"

"Good." I swallowed. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"I'm actually here for a meeting on a new project I'm starting," she explains. "What about you?"

"Same here," My stomach did a flip as something dawned on me. "Hold on a second. You're here for Affair Of The Heart?"

"Yeah," she blinks in surprise. "But how could you know that unless–"

"Unless I was your new co-star," I finished for her.

She exhaled a long breath. "Oh shit" she muttered slowly.

No kidding. I cannot process this. When I signed up for this project I had no idea that she would be working alongside me. If I did, I would never have agreed to it and put us both in this position. But what do we do now? This project is too big of a deal for me just to pass it up but I also don't think I can stand working with Anicka because of our past.

I stole a glance at her. Even she seemed to be working her brains on how exactly to proceed from here. Knowing her, I know that she won't back out of a commitment but then again I can never be sure taking into account all that went down between us.

She took a deep breath and fastened her gaze on me. I saw something in her eyes then. Determination. Fire. And I know that even if hell freezes over, she is not backing out now.

We stood there like that. Her eyes on me and my eyes on her. Each of us pressing the other to retreat. But I won't. And I know she won't either.

Unfortunately or fortunately, we were stuck with each other.

I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone for supporting my story. It means the literal world to me. However, I've noticed that a lot of people are reading the story but not engaging with it. I would request y'all to not be a silent reader and please vote and comment. It would only take a minute and help in motivating me to work on writing better content and update more frequently.

Also, this chapter was a dual pov. Let me know if guys liked this style of writing better or do you want me to go back to giving their point of views in separate chapters.

PS: I hope you guys saw the teaser reel on my insta account. I'll frequently upload spoiler edits before putting up a new chapter on Wattpad so don't miss out on them!

Lots of love,
D
