June 6th, 1944, off the coast of Normandy, France
As far as we know operation Overlord was about to begin, As me and my men sat waiting in are M4 Sherman the waves rocked the vehicle carrier. We sat there anxiously waiting for the red light to turn green and the doors to open and for all hell to break loose. Then for what seemed like 30 minutes the light turned green and the door's opened operation overlord had begun.
