Tucker's POV
Well after being shot... Again. We headed for the Elbe river Germany's last natural barrier before Berlin. We went from covering 10 miles a day, to covering at least 60 miles a day. Until one day the convoy stopped in a little town. We hadn't heard any firefights... Until I realized I had seen this place before... In photos... The atrocity... We had stumbled upon one of Hitler's 15,000 abandoned concentration camps. The only way I knew a man was alive was... the sunken look in his eyes... I couldn't tell if it was a terrible nightmare or literal hell on earth. We were told were staying here for a few weeks to help clean up and to tend to the poor souls that were emotionally and physically destroyed. If I gave a man a piece of chocolate or food they would sit there amazed and act forever great-full then take the thing we gave them and hide it thinking it would be the last thing they ever got. It broke my heart to think something so atrocious could have happened but we pushed on, and finally it happened we had won, the war in Europe was over!!!! And now my brother and I were in France were this whole journey started being thanked and praised by the French hearing the constant phrase being chanted over and over "VIVA LA FRANCE!!! VIVA LA MERICA!!!" The atmosphere was so... Ecstatic and lively I was just... In aww. And then Josh runs up behind me and says goodbye to this god forsaken place and hello Oklahoma sweet Oklahoma! You can say that again brother! I said hugging him like a crazed man after finding out there team won a major league game. After that it was over no more Europe no more war no more hectic hours filled with guns and screaming I can finally sleep soundly...
This chapter is based off a episode of WWII in HD and is partly true and some words came from actual veterans
