Tucker's POV/Flashback
December 7th 1941
Josh and I were in class, just about to start history. when the 2:30 announcement were interrupted with a radio broadcast saying the Japs just bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. It angered me deeply, as the broadcast went on Joshes face turned bright red . We both got up and left the room and headed straight for the army recruiting center and sign up for the army.
Two hours later I was at home and there was a knock on the door. Fiona!good to see you come on in. She told me that everyone at school knew Josh and I signed up for the army and that she was worried that we might not make it back. I sat there and assured her that we would make it back in one piece. She hugged me and said "I care about you. we have known each other since we were kids in grade school and I don't know what I would do with myself if one of you didn't come back". It's sent a chill up my spine to think about me or Josh not making it back. And that's when I vowed to come back. She smiled nervously and left. I didn't sleep at all that night... worrying. Wondering what might happen.
