Sleepless nights and the thought of today
By: Fathers Beress T. chipuka
What if
What if tonight was shorter
And the moon wasn't its prolonger
and neither the sun its murderer
Though terrible not as terrible as the muderer of sleepit visits all the nights
Without invitation nor invocation
Regardless of the time of night
Nor the fact one puts up a fight
To save perfect fantasies that are to the mind just right
And a perfect escape from yesterday's monstrositiesOh yesterday
So far far away
Never to be seen even in another day
A ship set asail
Singing treasure the present
before it too shall fail
For once gone against it you will never prevailDawn burns away the night
Commiting the most beautiful
Murder to ever seem right
As children are brought to daylight
The world wakes up.
And the corpse of last night ,
lays dead in your mind.
