Staring at a patch of long grass
Staring ever intently only brief heartbeat seconds pass
Bussling amongst the blades catch sight and hearing

Heartbeats pass as eyes observe
A dance between the blades of grass
A song emerges from the patch
mesmerising the ears
and casting away all fears
Winds cary the scent of tomorrow's tears
"Hello how may I help you today" emerges

As if led by pure compulsion a right hand leans to the patch its eyes have so dearly adored
In a moment those eyes widen
As silence fills a widening mouth.
Patches of red from the grass
Bite after bite
without miss
A slither and a hiss
then a silent goodbye without a kiss
