Part 22

"What are you guys doing here" I ask curious as they were incredibly nicely dressed. Both wearing shirts and fancy pants.

"Picking you up, I see you're ready." Max says

"Ready for what? I ask confused

"For dinner!? Why else did you get this dressed up?" He continues

"I made plans for dinner, on my own.." I say slightly offended that they would rub it that I wasn't invited to the McLaren dinner. I imagined that's what was happening as I heard people talking about it.

"Oh, I think it would've been nice to announce us that you're not comming!?" Lando chips in now looking offended himself

"I'm sorry, I should've announced you I'm not comming where?" I say confused and slightly mad, as if I made plans over their dinner, that I wasn't even invited to. I was pissed at this point.

"What are you talking about?The McLaren dinner?" Max says

"I don't know, nobody told me anything about a dinner, so I made other plans. I didn't want to sit alone in my room." I try to explain

"The team was supposed to tell you.." Lando says with an even more sad looking face. I don't know if it's about me or the team.

"Oh, well, I didn't get any invite, I'm sorry but I can't cancel my plans. Now if you'll excuse me, someone's waiting for me" I tell them as I remembered I told Carlos I'm on my way down.

"Wait, we're all going the same way" they say as they join me walking towards the elevator

Great.. they'll see I'm going out with Carlos and Ferrari guys . I didn't even know for sure who the other people were but I asumed it was his team as he said everyone, and as the McLaren team is also all hanging out tonight.

The whole elevator ride I was thinking about what Lando would say when he would see that Carlos was also among the people I was going with, after he got pissed about it at lunch. I was kind of hoping they wouldn't know.

"Is this a date you're going on?"Lando awkwardly asks

"Nono, it more people" I answer quickly

"Do we know them?" Max also asks

Before I could answer the elevator doors open and Carlos is waiting straight in front of them. As he spots me his smile brights up his face.

"I see we've got our answer" Max jokes

We all get out of the elevator and head to him. He was waiting alone so it wasn't giving my situation such a "not a date" vibe. Making them think I was probably lying.

The guys say hi and Carlos then greets me properly with a hug.

"You guys going on a date? Max asks as a joke and laughs it off.

"Yea, hope it's fine by you" Carlos says as he tries to look serious

We all smile and max is still laughing.

"Sure man, just make sure you bring her back by midnight. " He continues while still laughing

"We'll see" Carlos responds in a way too flirty tone. It sent a shiver down my spine, and makes Lando look flushed.

The whole conversation Lando didn't say anything, he seemed pissed about this whole situation and he seemed to be taking the date jokes too seriously.

"Ok, enough, bye guys." I tell them as I start heading to the exit and to get as far as possible from this weird interaction.
