season 1 episode 4

Tatum turned the page of her book as she sat on the couch near the kitchen. Bobby sat across from her, staring down at his book.

Buck stood at the stovetop with Hen as she made stirfry. Buck reached down into the pan, grabbing a carrot as his eyes stayed on the two.

"If you want some you can just ask." Hen sarcastically said.

"I'm good. I already ate." He told her, eyes not moving.

"You still owe me twenty bucks, Buck. Don't think I'm-a forget."

"For what?" His eyes finally left the table.

"For the damn cookie bouquet that I delivered to Chimeny." Tatum looked up as Hen raised her voice. "The one with the get well card that I personally watched you sign."

"He's doing it again." Buck pointed out, looking back over at the table. Tatum instantly focused her eyes back on her book.

"What? Eating dinner?"

"Staring into that book. Come on, you must have a line on the gossip around here. What is it? Why is he so obsessed with it?"

"All I'm gonna tell you about that book is to stay the hell away from it. Trust me, I made that mistake three months into working here."

"So you're saying no one here knows what he writes in it? Watch this. If I can't get him to tell me, Tate will."

"All right, Buck. When he pops you in that pretty face,  just make sure it's on the side that's already got a mark."

Tatum heard footsteps get closer as she reached the end of her chapter. She looked up, seeing Buck making his way over.

"Incoming." She mumbled, placing her book mark in her book. Bobby closed his book, taking a deep breath.

"So, Bobby, I got to ask. What's the deal with that book?" Buck asked.

"Do you? Do you 'gotta ask'?" Tatum asked. Bobby just stood up from his spot, walking past Buck.

"It's none of your business."

"I know it's a list of people you saved, all right?" Buck tried to follow, leaving the girl alone. Tatum sighed, standing up to join Hen. "Right now, there are fourty-six names in it. But there's space for 148, why that number?"

"You read my book?" Bobby snapped. Tatum froze, turning to look at the two.

"I-I mean I peaked-" Buck was cut off by Bobby shoving him against the wall.

"Don't ever do that again." The older man snapped. It took a second for Bobby to let go and walk off. Buck looked over at Tatum and Hen. Hen shook her head at him as Tatum sent a disapproving look.

They were interupted by the alarm sounding. Tatum sat her book down on the table as she began to rush down the steps.

"All hands on deck!" Bobby yelled, repeating the message the alarm was saying. "Gear up!"

------------------------------

"Anyone know what's going on? Why would they say all hands on deck but give, like, no details." Tatum asked as the engine rushed to the scene.

"Details are sitll coming in. The initial call just lost contact about three minutes ago." Bobby told her. She nodded as they engine took a turn and began to slow down.

The team hoped out to the ground and looked out into the water. Tatum felt her heart jump to her ass at the scene in front of her.

In the water sat a plane, both wings on fire.
