TWO WEEKS LATER
"That's the third time you threw up today Tris." Dale says worriedly.
"I'm fine, it's just something I ate." I reply wiping my mouth with a cloth.
"Maybe you should... you know..Take a pregnancy test." He suggests and I freeze.
"N-no. I don't need it. I'm not pregnant." I refuse and make my way to the bedroom.
"Tris, please." He pleads following me.
"Dale, trust me, no." I say pulling out my phone and texting Christina if she wanted to hang out.
The past two weeks I have been spending time with Dale and Josie. I haven't talk to Tobias at all besides the numerous texts he has sent me.
"Fine." He storms out of the room in frustration and I sigh. Dale has been constantly worried about me the past few weeks and I keep telling him I'm fine.
I refuse to believe I have a chance of being pregnant.Christina: I can come over in about 45 mins??
Christina texts back and I smile happy that she can come.
Me: Great, can u also maybe pick up a pregnancy test too?
I text back nervously. Maybe Dales right and I should try. Its not like I can avoid this situation. My phone buzzes and I look back down.
Christina: Your trying it? Have you been sick at all?
Me: I've had morning sickness for the past two weeks....
Christina: oh my gosh. I'll bring 5.
Me:thanks.
I sigh and toss my phone on the bed before running a hand through my hair. My head turns when I notice the curtains in the room lightly swaying. I walk over and look out the open window.
"You can't get me!" I watch Josie wiggles her fingers at Dale in the grass who crawling around chasing her.
"Bet I can." He teases back and she lets out a joyful squeal as he tackles and tickles her lightly.
"How did I become so lucky." I mutter to myself leaning against the window and continue to watch my two loves play around the yard.
"Come play mommy!" Josie shouts and I snap my attention to where she is staring amusingly at me from outside.
"Mommy's going to make some lunch. Chris is coming over later though." I yell back and Dale gives me a disappointed look.
"Aw okay." She looks away and I feel guilty, but I sulk back over to my bed and pick up my phone. One new message.
Tobias: tris, I saw Christina picking up pregnancy tests at the store, they obviously aren't for her.
My eyes widen at the message and I bite my lip. I know if I were pregnant Dale would accept the child as his own, but would Tobias want a part in the kids life?
My phone buzzes again and I look at another message.
Tobias: dammit, quit ignoring me. I know you are reading these.
I was debating wether or not to reply when I heard the front door open and close.
"I'm gonna go see if Mommys fine. You see if there's a movie you want to watch. Okay?" I hear Dale walk towards the bedroom so I quickly turn of my phone and throw it across the bed.
"You okay, babe?" Dale opens the door and peeks concerned at me.
"Yep. Why wouldn't I be?" I reply enthusiastically and I mentally curse at myself.
