The palace was quiet as the echoes of recent turmoil faded into the past. Three months had passed since the dark cloud of Princess Delilah's treachery had been lifted. The black magic scandal had been put to rest, with justice served and the kingdom of Westeria distanced from their once-tight alliance. The tension that had once gripped the palace was slowly giving way to new beginnings, and peace was being restored.
In the heart of the palace, Jungkook's pregnancy had reached its third month, and with each passing day, his health flourished. His cheeks had regained their color, and he moved with a gentle grace that had been absent during the early weeks of his pregnancy. He was stronger, happier, and the looming threat of Delilah was nothing more than a distant memory.
However, in another corner of the palace, a different kind of joy was brewing.
Consort Yoongi, dressed in the elegant robes befitting his station, walked down the familiar corridors toward Prince Yeonjun's chambers. His son's engagement had been a topic of discussion for many months now, and finally, the moment had come to deliver the news Yeonjun had been hoping for. His heart swelled with pride, knowing that this news would bring his son the happiness he deserved.
He knocked lightly on the ornate door before stepping inside, where Prince Yeonjun was seated by the window, his eyes distant as he gazed out at the gardens.
"Mother," Yeonjun greeted with a warm smile, rising from his seat, sensing something important was about to be said.
Yoongi approached him, his usual calm and composed demeanor softened by the joy in his heart. "I bring good news, my son," he began, his voice warm and soothing. "Commander Hoseok has finally agreed to your engagement with Soobin."
Yeonjun's eyes widened in disbelief, his mouth slightly open in shock. "What? He finally agreed?"
Yoongi nodded, a smile forming on his lips. "Yes, after much thought, he has given his blessing. Your father, and your brother Taehyung have also agreed. It's official now."
For a moment, Yeonjun was silent, processing the weight of what his mother had just said. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders, a burden that had been weighing on him for months. His love for Soobin had always been certain, but the approval of Soobin's father had been a hurdle they hadn't been able to overcome—until now.
"I can't believe it," Yeonjun whispered, emotion thick in his voice. "It's really happening."
"It is," Yoongi confirmed, stepping closer and placing a gentle hand on his son's shoulder. "Soobin is a good match for you. I always knew it, and now, everyone else sees it too."
Tears pricked the corners of Yeonjun's eyes as he smiled, his heart swelling with happiness. "Thank you, Mother. You've always supported me, even when things were uncertain."
Yoongi squeezed his son's shoulder affectionately. "You deserve happiness, Yeonjun. And now that this engagement is moving forward, you and Soobin will finally have the future you've dreamed of."
Yeonjun nodded, his heart still racing from the news. "When will the engagement be announced?"
"Soon," Yoongi replied. "There are a few formalities that need to be taken care of first, but it will be announced within the week. Preparations for the engagement ceremony will begin shortly after."
Yeonjun let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "This means everything to me, Mother."
Yoongi smiled, the pride and love for his son clear in his eyes. "And it means everything to me to see you happy."
As Yoongi prepared to leave, he turned back to his son with one final piece of advice. "Enjoy this moment, Yeonjun. After all the turmoil our family has been through, it's time for some joy and peace. Let this engagement be a new beginning for all of us."
