December 13th, friday, 2004.

Today Taylor turned 15. She's been waiting for this day for ages. I'm her best friend so I got her a very nice present. It's a new guitar, I think she's going to love it 'cause I know how much she loves singing.

She got her first guitar a few years ago from Santa!! Santa is the sweetest man ever. I made cookies for him last year and he ate all of them.

Tay has been writing songs for a while now and I really love them. I hope she will be the biggest star ever when she grows up.

I'm sure she will.

I'm getting ready for her birthday party right now, she invited me and her family to come over. I'm her only friend but that doesn't matter 'cause we're best friends forever. I love her to death.

We even bought matching bracelets. She has a 'M' on it and I have a 'T' on it.

I put a little bit of make up on my face because I have to look reasonable. Me and my mom went shopping and bought a special dress for this day. I just know how much it will mean to Tay.

It's a white dress, not too long but not too short, it is layered with a flower lace print and the back is open. The fabric is silk and it fits me perfect.

My make up look is not too complicated. I have a little bit of concealer under my eyes, blush on my cheecks and mascara. I'm still young and my mom told me not to wear too much make up.

She said it will be bad for my skin when I grow up.

It's not fair though because a girl named Jessica from my class always gets to wear make up to school. Her dad is so rich and she lives in a huge mansion.

Me and Tay don't like her, she's such a pick me.

She also invited every girl from our class to her birthday party except me and Tay.

But who cares, I should get going.

My mom will drop me off at Taylor's house in an hour. I'm so nervous, I hope she'll like my present.

I knock on the door of Taylor's house and see a tall figure walking up to the door through the glass. It looks like her mom.

The door opens and it is indeed Andrea. She greets me and leads me to the table where Taylor is sitting with her family.

The house is decorated with balloons and lots of party garlands.

I place my big present next to the table 'cause it's very heavy.

She's sitting next to her brother, Austin. He looks a lot like Taylor, I always find that so funny.

I walk up to her and she immediately gets off of her chair, runs to me and pulls me into a hug.

"Happy birthday Taytay," I smiled. She looks really great, she's wearing a silver, glittery dress with a little bit of make up on her face, just like me.

"Thank you so much, Mae. I love you. You look absolutely amazing," she said excitingly.

I thank her and walk to the other side of the table to grab my present. I give her the present and she looks at me with big eyes.
