"I'll bet you got pushed around
Somebody made you cold
But the cycle ends right now
'Cause you can't lead me down that road
And you don't know what you don't know"
-Mean
Taylor Swift

I just woke up cuddled in Josh's arms. I can't get out; every time I try to escape, his grip tightens on me; so far, I've tried four times. His arms are wrapped around my waist, and his face is nestled in my hair.

Logan walks in and stops dead in his tracks. I try to mouth, 'Help,' but he laughs, takes a picture, and then sits on Wes's bed.

My first day of school is in two days, and I'm not excited. I also can't get a good night's sleep if I'm on a hard couch wrapped up in a stranger's arms.

About half an hour later, Wes walks in. His eyes immediately go to mine, and then he looks at Josh. At this point, I've given up and just shrugged with a frown.

His attention turns towards Logan. " Get off my bed, maggot." Logan looks up from his phone. "You love me, Wes." He makes a kissy face before he frowns. "No, Annie? I guess someone didn't get lucky."

Wes rolls his eyes. "Annie wanted a real relationship. When I told her no, she asked for a bunch of reasons, and I told her them. Then she left crying, so I don't know. It's not my problem anymore."

I immediately force open Josh's arms, letting myself loose. "What exact words did you tell her?" Josh wakes up from the sudden movement. "Aww, I was so comfy."

I ignore Josh and look towards Wes, "Not that it's any of your business, but I just let her know that our relationship had been purely physical and that she shouldn't expect more from me."

Logan groans and rolls his eyes, "dude, purely physical? Damn, just call her a prostitute." Wes's gaze shifts towards Logan, but I approach him anyways, "Can I have her room number?"

~~

Wes gave me her room number, and I walked towards the Silverstone. It's much cleaner upon first appearance. The grass is in better condition, and there are no weird stains in the corners, except for an odd smell coming from a corner on the staircase.

Regardless, I walk up the stairs and towards Annie's room. I knock, but there is no response. I knock again, and this time, a voice chokes out, "I don't wanna talk right now, Violet." I knock again, and this time, the door slams open. "Violet, I swear to oh," she frowns.

"Uhm, hi, I'm Jordan; I'm Wes's roommate." she rolls her eyes at me, "You can have him; he's a whore, so don't get your hopes up." I laugh, and she looks up at me. Her blue eyes are outlined with red, and her blonde hair is frizzy; she's way shorter than me and looks a lot like my sister.

It physically pains me to look at her, vulnerable and crying. She looks so young and too pretty to be crying over Wes. "I just wanted to check up on you. Wes told me what happened, and his words were a little rough. Are you okay?" She choked out some sort of response before she wraps her arms around my waist crying in my arms.

She speaks through her sobs while I try to calm her down. "Let's sit and talk." She nods and leads me towards her bed. The room is a very bright pink coated with different colors everywhere, and yet it's not overpowering. She has framed pictures of herself, her friends, and young kids, most likely her siblings.

"I thought—" a small sob forced its way out. I thought he liked me. I know it's stupid because he's never dated anyone; it's always been hookup after hookup, but I thought. Since he was so nice to me." She starts crying into her hands.

"This isn't your fault. You're gorgeous, and he's Wesly. You can do a million times better than him." She smiles up at me. " You aren't so bad, you know? He mentioned some 'annoying' new roommate, but you know I kind of like you."

I laugh out a thank you, "You can go, you know. I think I'll be okay. I just needed someone for a minute. Thanks, really." She smiles and hugs me.

"Okay. Let me know if you ever need anything or if you need me to beat up Wes for you." I laugh, and she hands me her phone, and I insert my number.

She leads me out of her dorm before smiling, "Thanks, really, Jordan. Nobody's ever been there for me." I smile and make my way downstairs.

Logan's waiting outside on a bench, "Hey, Jordan, how'd it go?" I walk past his bench, and he stands following me, "It went well. She's actually really sweet, and Wes was an ass for messing with her."

"You'll get used to it, you know?" he looks down at me. "The girls he'll bring home and the girls he leaves crying." I feel his eyes on me as I walk just ahead of him, "Maybe, but it's not okay. I won't let it happen."

"He's not a villain, you know. He just has his flaws," there's a bit of humor in his tone, and i'm immediately pissed. I stop before the Blackwood and turn to him, filled with rage, "flaws? I just comforted a girl who felt used and betrayed. All for what? so he can have a quickie every night?" I steady myself.

"I know you're mad at him; that's okay. I've been there." I calm down, reminding myself it's not Logan I'm mad at, and I sit on the bench. "What did he do to you?"

Logan sits beside me. " I've only ever had one real crush, one girl who I couldn't look away from, one girl who I couldn't live without." I look up at him. "I think I could've loved her, really loved her, but Wes did what he always does."

I lay my head on his shoulder and his whole body tenses. "I'm sorry, really." He relaxes, letting himself breathe. "Anyways, she was completely shattered after that. She dropped out of the program and blocked Wes, Josh, and me on everything."

I don't know how to respond, so I lay my hand on top of his; he freezes for a second before his hand turns over, and our fingers interlock. I sit up, my hand still with his, and he turns to me, "Wes isn't a bad person; just give him a chance." I nod, and before I can speak, Josh comes out, and Logan's hand separates from mine.

"Hey guys, make some room!" He pushes himself between us. I've got to get going," Logan says quickly, and just as fast, he makes his way into the building and up the stairs. "Umph, what was that about?" Josh reminds me he's here.

"Uhm, I don't know. Let's head upstairs." I look at Josh, his face concerned. "Uhm, let's talk tomorrow. I have something I need to do." With that, he runs inside and up the stairs.

"Oh," I'm left here alone. I'm going to go upstairs alone. I'm going to be alone in a room with the biggest jerk I've met.

I force myself up the stairs and into my room, preparing for an argument, but I don't find one. Instead, I find Wes asleep, and I see him. Behind his ego and disgusting personality, I didn't even pay attention to him.

He looks stunning, with long lashes and clear skin. His hair falls in perfect, messy waves on the pillow. I'm in awe at the man in front of me.

"Are you Stalking me now, Redding?" and the moment is over. "Redding? I think I'm growing on you, Shaw. " He lets out a light laugh. " You wish."
