"That when I talk to you oh,
Cupid walks right through
And shoots an arrow through my heart
And I sound like a loon, but
don't you feel it too?"

I wake up, and it's the Sunday before school starts. I knew this day would come, mostly because yesterday was the Saturday before school, but it still hurts.

I look to my left, hoping to see the same face that I saw last night, but instead, I see Josh.

More specifically, I see Josh peeking out from under Wes's bed, so like any normal human being would do. I screamed, loud, a bit of an overreaction, but you do what needs to be done when someone's hiding under a bed staring at you.

Josh climbs out from underneath the bed. "Woah, sorry, Jordan. It's just me. I didn't mean to freak you out." I smile at him, "I knew it was you, but you know I met you yesterday. I couldn't be sure you weren't a weirdo."

Wes comes running into the room; he looks between Josh and me. I realize this position might be slightly suspicious, with Josh on his knees in front of me.

"What the hell? I heard you from the dining hall. What happened!" Josh frowns, "I tried to scare her." Wes walks over and flicks Josh on the forehead, "Every time, dude."

I look up at Wes, and his eyes fall on mine, and I actually want to die, drowning in his eyes. As if he could read my mind, he positioned his face right in front of mine, "What are you thinking, Redding?"

I'm a bit confused by his tone, but choose to ignore it. "What do you mean by every time?" I look down at Josh; he falls back and sits crisscrossed on the rug before me, "I may or may not have done this exact prank to every one of Wes's roommates." a sly grin pops onto his face.

I smile, "Never again, okay?" I pet his head. His face drops, emotionless, before he grows a big grin, "Yes, ma'am."

Josh is a lot like my little brother, which is kind of funny. Except my little brother is a nerdy genius. And Josh thought it'd be funny to hide under a bed waiting for me to wake up.

I stand up and open my closet, preparing to change. "Unless you guys want to see something you can't unsee, then I'd suggest you leave." With that, Josh begins to leave. Wes, on the other hand, stays, smiling.  "I don't mind a show."

I raise my eyebrow at him, "Shaw." His smile grows, "I love a dangerous woman." I peek back out and give him a warning look. He raises his hands in surrender and backs out of the room.

When I meet everyone at the dining hall, it's evident that word has gotten around that a girl is living at Blackwood. I'm getting stares of awe and annoyance, and some girls stare at me in jealousy. I don't want to be someone people stare at; I've never wanted to be noticed.

I'm looking around nervously. "Hey, Jordan." I turn to the voice around me, Logan. "I'm going to grab some waffles. You want some?" I smile and nod, following him.

He shows me around the dining hall, helps me figure out the machines, and informs me of the times when the best food is still available.

He leads me to the boys' table. Josh and Wes are waiting. I sit across from Wes and next to Josh. "How's it going, Redding? Are you getting used to the place?" Logan eyes Wes with an emotion that I can't quite grasp.
