"I am not convinced in the slightest, that you meant to follow through with your end of the bargain. Edward Cullen" Marilynn chided. Her eyes focused on him, searching his frame for any hints to what he was thinking.

Edward cringed away. Feeling his mind being probed and expose to the Queen. Marcus sister. She was a soul reader as he and Aro was. But she didn't need direct touch like Aro did, and shields could not keep her out. There were multiple ways to get inside the mind, and she was able to access each point.

"You wanted to wait it out." She confirmed what his deepest thoughts were. His secret plan. Bella eyed him closely, hurt and betrayal swirling in her brown eyes.

"You promised you'd change me! The whole family gave their votes!"she argued, stepping away from him as he avoided eye contact.

Tilting her head, she smiled. "Lies and lies. He had hopped you'd grow attach to this human life. Grow old, so he could have a reason to end his existence. " Marilynn clicked her tongue. "Sadly that was not the option you were given Edward Cullen." She stood from her seat beside her brother, and took a step forward. "The Volturi do not give second chances. We were merciful when you came seeking death because you believed your human was dead. Even when she came back and rescued you, we allowed you both to leave unharmed with the promise that she would be changed. My sweet Jane reported she was still human when my loves were rendered unnecessary to Forks Washington , and I surely believed by now you would have complied."

Edward eased back, pulling Bella with him. The Queen approached slowly. The guards watched with amusement and closed in.

"Now you stand accused of another crime and believe that we owe you something ? You take advantage of my brothers merciful nature. Aro has been too good to your coven. Therefore as for your punishment. Edward Cullen I sentence you to death." She orders, Demetri and Felix quickly grabbing hold of the mind reader. Pushing him down onto his knees. He resisted, but it was no use against the two guards holding him. "Bella. You have a choice. You can die with your mate. Or be turned and join my guard. You'll have a week to decide. You can make your mind up by then?" Marilynn knew the two weren't truly mates. Edward was only after her blood. He would wait her out, then drink her dry. Then he'd seek death. For it is known; no meal tastes as fine and pleasurable as the blood you recieved from your singer.

Bella bit her lip and looked down, her eyes casted to the floor still processing everything. She didn't bother look up to Edward as he was being dragged off by Felix and Demetri. Jane hot on their trial, a pleased smirk showing.

"Alec. My love, bring our dear guest to the empty chambers in the east wing. There is a room in between yours and Jane. So she'll be in the safest place." Marilynn nods to her guard, who quickly moves to guide the girl to the chambers assigned to her. Gently taking her hand, and escorting her out.

Marilynn stands in her spot. The groans of agony from Edward are heard, and she sighs. "Such a sadness."

"Indeed. Tell me, sister. How were you able to learn that information? Even I was limited." Aro confessed, leaning forward with curiously.

Moving in closer, Marilynn placed her hand in his own so he could see. "Edward grew clever with undermining you, brother. He learned where your gift is limited and used it against you. Making a fool out of you. I couldn't allow that to go unpunished, now could I?" She smirked, her hand returning to join with her other one.

"That is why you came to sit in on this trial today." Caius puts the pieces together. His own face no hiding the pleasure he got from the Cullen boy suffering.

"Exactly." She sat back down. Her eyes glued forward. She could feel Marcus looking at her. But she paid no mind. Her own head ran with what Bella would decide. "Time will tell...."
