At precisely 6 am, I walked in the hotel gym and to my surprise, Lando was already waiting for me.

He was wearing his gym clothes and so was I.

The only difference between us was that I had two knives strapped against my ribs and one around each leg.

He couldn't see the knives on my ribs because my shirt was covering them, but he immediately looked at the knives on my legs.

"Lose the knives, Bon" he sighed.

"Why? How can I be sure that I can trust you?"

He rolled his eyes, took his shirt off and threw it away. "Look, no knives" he pulled his shorts a bit up to show me there were no knives on his body. "Now lose the knives"

Fair enough.

I grabbed the knives out of the straps around my upper legs, held them both by their tips and threw them in one quick motion to Lando.

Both of the knives flew next to his head in the wall behind him. I am pretty sure one of the knives flew right next to his ear.

But he didn't flinch, he just kept looking at me, very unimpressed. "You missed"

"Did I?" I tilted my head with a smile.

He rolled his eyes. This guy didn't bat an eye when there were two knives flying past him.

There were two explanations for that.

He trusted that I wouldn't kill him or he wasn't afraid to die either.

Maybe a bit of both, he drove super fast cars for a living, guess he couldn't be scared to die.

"What are we doing here?" I asked as I looked around. "I am not your trainer, Lando"

"No, but I am" his trainer yawned as he walked in the gym.

I frowned as I looked back at Lando, who just shrugged and walked up to me. "You told me you wanted to get stronger, right?"

No, I never said that. But fair enough, I was quick, I was fit, but I wasn't that strong.
Why should I? I had my knives.

His trainer walked to the both of us, we met a few times when Lando and I were still dating.

Fake dating, dating for real, who knows.

He looked at the knives that I threw at the wall and sighed. "I am not gonna ask questions because it's too early"

Good because how could I explain that I just threw a couple of knives to Lando?

"Now, do you want to join our sessions or not?" Jon looked at me.
Their sessions were at 6 am?

"Sure" I nodded. I was awake already, so it wouldn't hurt if I joined them.

Lando lips curled up a little, forming a little smile on his face.

Jon grabbed a punching bag and something to wrap my hands in. I guess these sessions were boxing sessions.

Lando knew this. He knew they were gonna do this. He wanted me to join this session.

He wanted me to get stronger.

We worked out for an hour and I was absolutely exhausted after it.

I sat down against the wall, I could feel the sweat against my forehead and on my arms.

Lando, who was still shirtless, chuckled as he sat down next to me. "You good?"

I nodded. "Yeah"

He passed me a bottle of water. "We have this session every week, the morning before the race"

"Good to know, but I won't join them anymore" I said as I grabbed the bottle and put it against my lips.

"Why not? You could definitely use it"

Maybe he was right because I was absolutely exhausted while he seemed... fine?

He was only sweating a little, this was an easy session for him.

"Because I don't need it" I said, getting up and grabbing my knives from the wall. "I have these"

Lando sighed, shook his head but didn't fight against it.

"I will see you in the paddock" I said before walking away.

"You were still prettier with brown hair" he said before I flipped him off.

Asshole.
