Chapter 3

|| SAME DAY • EVENING ||

On the table and board the pictures, papers and the materials officers found on the crime spot. On one side Jack and Liliana were at the desk while on the opposite side, James was standing and explaining the case.

"On March 26th the first robbery in Los Angeles, officers reached and couldn't find any evidence. Again on the 8th of April this month, the second robbery took place in California. Well, the same way, no evidence. Exact after 15 days of the second robbery the third robbery, yesterday in New Mexico" - James said.

"Woah! 3 biggest cities robberies?? Within a month?? No wonder it's a big highlight of the United States nowadays. I mean, where was the system dude? Were they sleeping or what??" - Liliana is surprised by the case details. "Of course, all the CCTV was active also the guards of the bank were on duty, the criminal did the robbery under the nose of this entire freaking system" - James replied

"How can you be so sure that it's the same person?" - Liliana asked"However the material doesn't say so Liliana" - James says while showing 3 of the same types of black Joker cards. "What's this?" - Liliana asked

"This has been found from the crime spots respectively" - James said"But didn't you just say he didn't leave any clues?" - Jack finally spoke"Yes! I said he leaves no evidence where we can go and arrest him" - James answered. "Wait! Are you doubting anyone?" - Liliana asked.

James opened a CCTV footage of the main road in New York, a tall man in a black hoodie & mask. He was walking when he turned back towards the CCTV footage while flexing his vein. "What's this?" - Liliana asked when Jack suddenly took control and zoomed in on his hand "A Joker Tattoo!! Wait it's kinda same as-" - Liliana gets cut by James

"It's the same as these cards" - showing the 3 similar cards of the Joker. "Who's that guy? And from when and where the footage is this?" - Liliana asked again"It's still unknown about this guy's details but the footage is from New York City, Yoman club at 9:45 PM yesterday. The total opposite side of the bank which was robbed, just 15 minutes after the robbery this clip caught him" - James answered.

"It's pretty weird, for now, I think... We should send special security in the remaining big banks, as he is targeting big banks of big cities" - Liliana said"Yes, action has already been taken after the case was transferred to us" - James replied. Liliana nodded when James asked Jack, "Mr.Devis, you are mostly talkative now you are completely quiet and it seems pretty unusual!"

Jack looks at him with a straight face and says, "I don't think his real motto is to ROB BIG BANKS only!!""what do you mean?" - Liliana asked while raising an eyebrow, Jack pointing to a newspaper article

"BIGGEST MUSEUM EXHIBITION OF ALL TIME OF UNITED STATES" - Liliana reads

"The robber is trying to cover this entire Festa / Program if I'm not wrong" - Jack says"It's holding next month, on the 25th of May in Boston! I mean, how can it be? Can you explain more?" - Lilliana says cluelessJack stood up and went towards the board and started saying, "It's the biggest museum exhibition of all time for sure it's costing a lot of money, therefore, the coming billionaire also some rumors circulated this museum rejoining many underground mafia dealerships in billions, according to this article! Just by doing 3 robberies within a month making a buzz in the United States so that the big news of the museum exhibition is eye shading and look it's happening, the only buzz is the robbery all around, where is the museum exhibition news?" 

"& if I'm not wrong his next destination is 'New York'  or 'Toronto' the nearest city of Boston" - Jack walked back to his desk while leaning down on his chair he says.

Liliana & James look at each other, passing a mysterious glance. Suddenly Liliana got a notification, she checked it,

[Unknown Number]

"I saw the criminal, I know you are after him... come *** Alone"

After checking her phone she put it in her pocket and stood up,
"I have some work to do" - with that, she left while Jack was glancing at her leaving sight.

[ Starry night, Empty narrow route ]

Liliana reached the location while scrolling her phone,
"This place?" - she was looking around, and suddenly another message popped up on the phone
"Come on to the next building, first floor"

Liliana was about to go when she felt a hand on her left shoulder, immediately she pointed the gun at him however was surprised to witness the person,
"YOU? What are you doing here?" - she asked
"How can I let a beautiful lady take such a risk alone?" - while passing a wink Jack said.
"He told me to come alone" - Liliana replied with a straight face
"Then go!!" - Jack said

"What if he finds out?" - Liliana asked
"I'm not following you or you want me to follow you?" - he asked in his usual flirty way, not giving a damn reply Liliana walked away. It was dark and the night was giving a creeping vibe only fer footsteps could be heard. She went upstairs and opened the door,
"I'm here... Alone... where are you?" - while looking around she said.

Initially someone's presence, footsteps sound a deep voice,
"You sure you are alone??" - it was too dark to see his face
"Yes, I am. so, are you telling me the name?" - Liliana said without any hesitation.
"His name is-" - he couldn't finish as someone shot him, he instantly fell on the floor
Jack immediately comes out searching for the person who shot but finds no one.

Meanwhile, the injured man gave Liliana a picture & passed out in a few minutes, Liliana checked his entire body for any kind of clue but nothing, she stood up to look for the secret person who was present there all along but she failed as well. After both come to the crime spot they realize the body is gone.
"Heck" - Jack curses in frustration.
"Where did the body gone?" - Liliana clueless
"They might hide it, we were close" - Jack says
"He gave me this before leaving" - Liliana shows the picture to Jack.
