Bonnie's pov

It was the night before the ritual. I was prepping for it, then suddenly I got from a call from a number I recognised that I hadn't talked to in weeks. It was my mother. The last time I talked to her was the night before I brought back Elena.

''Hello.'' I said after picking up the call.

'Hey Bonnie.'' It didn't sound like my mother, it's sounded like someone I haven't talked to in a while. It was Caroline

''What do you want, where's my mother.''

''She's fine she's right here, look Bonnie I know what you're going to do and I'm not going to stop you.''

''OK so what do you want?'''

'' I know you're mad at Stefan and you're not talking to me or Elena because of what happened with Enzo, but Bonnie I love and miss you, we've been friends since we were kids. I don't want our friendship to be like this.''

'I know, I miss you too, but I just need space right now. I'll come back to mystic falls when the time is right, but I'm not forgiving Stefan.''

''OK, but if you need me or Elena, we're right here.' Caroline said

''I know love you.''. I said before hanging up the phone.

After that call with Caroline, I was exhausted from a long day helping the tribe with prepping for the ritual. It was midnight, and I decided to doze off from tiredness, hoping to have a few hours of sleep before the morning sunshine rises. But sleep wasn't the only thing that I expected to feel it became something different for me.

When I first opened my eyes, I was met with a familiar face. It was him, Enzo, after seeing him for the first time since his funeral. It felt new, but I was also filled with tears in my eyes. I was standing in a peaceful, moonlight clearing, surrounded by fireflies and flowers.

'Hello, Bonnie.' Enzo said softly, his voice echoing in shimmery light through the dark night.

I gasped, seeing his face again. 'Enzo.'

Before I could even speak, I ran up to him, and he opened me with open arms, holding me tightly, knowing that he might vanish at any time, I just wanted time to stop for one moment. With his embrace, it felt strong and safe. Tears filling up in my eyes, but I couldn't care less.

'But the ritual, it hasn't started yet.' I said, confused but willing to let it go.

'He smiled. 'I know, but I couldn't wait to see you before I was brought back to life.'

My heart was racing.'Why? What's wrong?'

His expression changed, and he softened.'I need to ask you something, something important.'

'Anything.' I promised without a second to think.

'When I come back.. I need you to promise me that you will reconcile with Caroline and talk to Stefan.'

His words felt like a dagger was stabbed into me like 100 times.

'No, I can't, not after what he did to you, what he did to me.' I snapped back with anger. The image of Stefan ripping his heart out in front of burned into my brain like it was never leaving.it just stayed there for so long.

Enzo took my trembling hands into his, trying to calm me down. 'I know you're angry, love, and hurt, but you've been carrying this burden on your shoulder for so long. It's time to have closure once I come back.'

With tears running down my cheek. 'I know, but I'm not ready yet.' I admitted, voice trembling either vulnerability.

Enzo cupped my face, whipping the tears of my face. 'Youw will be when the time is right, and when it does come, you won't be alone. You will have me, your family, and your friends.'

I nodded slowly, my chest aching with agony and pain, but filled with Enzo's love and touch.

He placed a gentle kiss on my head before whispering. 'I love you, Bonnie Bennet.'

Before I could respond, the dream faded away, leaving only the sunlight to help me.

I woke up to sunrise beaming down my face, tears drying out from my face. For the first time in a long time, I was happy knowing that I would be reunited with the man I fell in love with for so long.

'Enzo.' I whispered, with my fingers brushing the space where he'd be beside me in my dream.
