Bonnie's POV:
It's been two weeks since Enzo came back. We extended our stay in Africa by two extra days, exploring and connecting with local witches. During that time, I crafted Enzo a new daylight ring his old one had been destroyed.
Now, we're finally heading back to Mystic Falls. It's been months since either of us stayed there for long. I haven't seen my mom or Grams in five months not since Enzo's funeral. They've been travelling across America, connecting with other witches. We've kept in touch over the phone, but seeing them again feels, different.
"Bon, what's wrong?" Enzo's concerned voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"I'm fine," I lied, though my racing heart betrayed me.
"No, you're not. I can hear your heart pounding." His eyes softened with understanding.
I sighed. "I'm just nervous about going back... about seeing everyone, especially my mom and Grams."
Enzo gently took my hand, his thumb tracing soothing circles on my skin. "It's going to be okay, love. I'm right here every step of the way." He smiled that familiar, reassuring smile. "I love you, Bonnie Bennett."
My heart swelled. "I love you too, Enzo."
Nobody's POV:
After landing in Mystic Falls, Caroline, Elena, and Stefan were there waiting, their faces lighting up as they saw Bonnie and Enzo. They embraced warmly, catching up as they drove toward Bonnie's house.
When they arrived, everyone stepped out, but Enzo quickly noticed Bonnie still standing by the car, frozen in place. He walked back to her and gently took her hand.
"I'm right here," he whispered, locking eyes with her.
Bonnie drew in a shaky breath, giving him a small, grateful smile. With his hand in hers, she finally stepped onto the familiar porch.
The front door opened, revealing Sheila and Abby. Tears instantly filled Bonnie's eyes as she ran into their arms, holding them tight as if afraid they'd disappear.
"Hey, Bon," Abby whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
"I missed you both so much," Bonnie sobbed, clinging to them.
"We missed you too, sweetheart," Sheila added gently.
"How was your trip across America?" Bonnie asked, wiping her tears.
Abby and Sheila exchanged a knowing look, smirking playfully. "We'll tell you *all* about it... later."
Bonnie frowned. "Wait, what? I thought we'd spend the day together now that I'm back."
"You will," Enzo interrupted, stepping up with a mischievous glint in his eye. "But there's something important we need to do first."
Bonnie narrowed her eyes, suspicious. "What *exactly* do you mean?"
"You'll see." His voice turned lower, smoother a tone that always sent shivers down her spine.
Before she could press further, Enzo guided her to his car and helped her in, refusing to reveal their destination.
Bonnie stared in awe as Enzo pulled up to the newest five-star hotel in town, the very one Caroline and Elena couldn't stop talking about during their calls from Africa.
"Enzo... why are we here? I thought we were staying at my house for a while."
"We are," he answered with a sly smile. "But first, I have a surprise for you."
Bonnie crossed her arms playfully. "What kind of surprise?"
His chuckle was deep and rich. "It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you, now would it?"
Her curiosity burned brighter, and she felt that familiar thrill rush through her.
"Trust me," Enzo whispered, his voice low and velvety, leaning close to her ear. "It's a surprise you'll never forget."
And he was right it truly was a moment she would treasure forever.
