Afternoon snuggle, Bonnie and Enzo, were costing up in the couch watching tv. Suddenly, there was a knock at the doo.
''Expecting somebody?'' Enzo asked.
''Nope, who do you think it is?'' Bonnie shaked her head.
Enzo got up to open the door. To his suprise, it was Klaus and his family each holding gifts.
Bonni3 got up. ''What are you doing here?''
''Relax witch. I didn't come to start trouble.''
''I doubt that.'' Bonnie said weakly.
"Really, Nik. Could you at least try to act like you're not terrifying?" Rebelah rolled her eyes.
"What can I say? It's a gift."klaus grinned.
"Klaus, if you've come to unsettle Bonnie, I suggest you turn around and leave."
"Enough. We came here to celebrate, not stir up old wounds. Bonnie, we're here as friends.
Later in the evening, Klaus approaches Bonnie, who is standing near the window, watching the moonlight filter through the trees.
Klaus: (softly) "You don't trust me. I don't blame you for that."
Bonnie: (not looking at him) "You've given me plenty of reasons not to."
"You're right. I've done terrible things to you and countless others. But for what it's worth, I'm trying to be better for my daughter, for my family."
Bonnie finally turns to face him, her expression guarded.
Bonnie: "Words are easy, Klaus. Actions are harder."
Klaus: (nodding) "Then let me show you. You have my word: if you ever need help, I'll be there. Not as a debt to repay, but as a promise to protect what matters to my family. And whether you like it or not, you've become part of that."
As the evening progresses, Bonnie watches Klaus interact with his siblings-smiling at Rebekah's teasing, laughing at Kol's antics, and sharing quiet moments with Elijah and Freya. He seems more human than the monster she remembers.
Bonnie: (to Enzo) "Maybe he really is changing."
Enzo: (nodding) "People can surprise you, love. Even someone like Klaus."
When the Mikaelsons prepare to leave, Klaus lingers behind for a moment.
Klaus: (to Bonnie) "I meant what I said earlier. You have nothing to fear from me, witch. I owe you that much."
Bonnie: (after a pause) "I'll hold you to that, Klaus."
As Klaus disappears into the night with his family, Bonnie feels a weight lift from her shoulders.
"Maybe I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder anymore."
"With me by your side, love, you never did."
