A/n's pov

Two days had passed, and Soobin was sitting beside y/n in her room. She was sprawled out on the bed, her attention fixed on her phone, casually watching some random video to pass the time. Boredom had settled in, and the only thing keeping her company was the soft glow of the screen. Soobin, however, couldn't help but be curious. He leaned closer, peeking at the phone screen over her shoulder.

The video ended, and y/n turned off her phone with a sigh, tossing it aside. When she turned to look at Soobin, his wide, slightly dazed expression made her burst into laughter.

"Wow, you look so surprised!" y/n teased, amused by how shocked he seemed.

"I've... never seen anything like this before," Soobin admitted, blinking as if trying to make sense of what he had just watched. "Where did you even get this... thing?"

Y/n grinned mysteriously, sitting up on the bed. "Even if I told you, you wouldn't believe me."

Soobin raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her playful tone. "Try me. I want to know! Where did you get this thing?" His voice was filled with curiosity, his eyes glued to her.

Y/n bit her lip, pausing for dramatic effect. "Okay, but you have to promise not to freak out."

Soobin tilted his head, looking even more confused but nodded. "I won't freak out. Just tell me."

Y/n leaned in slightly, lowering her voice as if she was about to share a top-secret piece of information. "This thing... the phone... it's not from this century. It's from the future."

Soobin's eyes widened, and he blinked at her a few times, trying to process what she just said. "The future?" he repeated, his voice laced with disbelief.

"Yeah," y/n nodded, smiling at his reaction. "This technology doesn't even exist in this world yet. It'll only come into our world many, many years from now."

Soobin just stared at her, still blinking, his face full of confusion. "What? What do you mean?"

Y/n chuckled softly, enjoying the way he was trying to wrap his mind around her words. "I'll tell you a secret, but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone."

Soobin, more intrigued than ever, nodded eagerly. "I promise, y/n. I won't tell anyone."

"Okay, here's the truth," y/n whispered, leaning closer to him, her voice dropping to a near whisper. "I'm not from this century. I'm from the future. That's why I have this phone."

Soobin blinked a few more times, his expression a mixture of confusion and disbelief. "Wait... the future?"

"Yes, the future," y/n repeated, her voice serious now. "In the time I come from, Staehan Kingdom-and Yuita Kingdom no longer exist separately. They unite and become one large place called Seoul. I'm from there, from the future. In my world, we've developed so much new technology that we have things like this phone everywhere."

Soobin's mouth opened and closed a few times before he finally let out a laugh. "The future? Come on, y/n, you're really good at making up stories." He grinned, clearly thinking she was joking.

Y/n's face fell into a pout. "That's exactly why I said you wouldn't believe me," she muttered, crossing her arms.

Soobin shook his head, still chuckling. "Seriously, y/n, did you hit your head somewhere? You're saying the most ridiculous things right now."

"Believe it or not, I'm telling you the truth," y/n said, feeling slightly frustrated that he wasn't taking her seriously. She wanted to convince him, but she knew it would be impossible.

Before she could continue, a sudden knock on the door made her freeze. Her eyes widened in surprise, and she immediately grabbed the phone, hiding it in her bag as quickly as she could. She took a deep breath and stood up to open the door.

"Madam, is Mr. Steve here?" the maid asked politely as she entered.

Y/n nodded, stepping aside to reveal Soobin still sitting on the bed. The maid glanced between them before speaking again.

"The King and Queen are requesting your presence, Mr. Steve," the maid informed him.

Soobin's expression immediately changed. He stood up, straightening his clothes.

"Now?" y/n asked the maid, feeling a slight sense of unease at the sudden call.

The maid nodded in confirmation. "Yes, madam. They require Mr. Steve immediately."

Y/n exchanged a glance with Soobin, who gave her a small reassuring smile before following the maid. But even though he seemed calm, y/n couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Her instincts were screaming at her. Without thinking twice, she decided to follow them, trailing a few steps behind as they made their way through the corridors of the palace.

As they walked, y/n couldn't help but wonder what this unexpected summons was about. The King and Queen rarely called for someone so abruptly, especially Soobin. She quickened her pace, her mind racing with possibilities. Something about this situation felt off, and the uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach wouldn't go away.

Soobin walked ahead confidently, unaware of y/n's growing concern. Every so often, he glanced back to make sure she was still behind him, and each time, she gave him a small smile in return, trying to mask her worry.

Finally, they reached the grand doors of the throne room. The guards standing at the entrance stepped aside to let them through. Y/n's heart pounded as the doors creaked open, revealing the King and Queen seated on their thrones, their expressions unreadable. She exchanged a final glance with Soobin, her unease intensifying.

Both y/n and Soobin entered the grand room, their eyes scanning the surroundings. As they stepped in, they noticed Yeonjun standing nearby. However, something was off-his face looked unusually troubled, unlike his usual confident self.

On the opposite side of the room stood a maid, her posture stiff, waiting silently. The tension in the room was thick, and y/n couldn't help but feel uneasy. She exchanged a glance with Soobin, who looked equally puzzled, his brows furrowed.

The King and Queen remained seated, their expressions unreadable, but y/n could sense that something serious was about to be discussed.
