The witching hour refers to the time of night (3:00-4:00 am is commonly speculated) when creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and black magic to be most effective.
The witching hour from medieval times is the time believed that witches came out to do their "unholy" practices. The time ascribed to the witching hour was generally viewed after midnight. Women caught out late at night could have been suspected of witchcraft if they did not have a legitimate reason to be out.
A lot of things have been happening to me from 3:00am to 3:30am. I've heard things moving around in my room when I physically see nothing moving.
I never open my door after 3am. I remember one time I heard what sounded like three knocks on my door after 3am. Usually, three knocks on a door means a mocking of the Trinity (the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit). After a while of trying to sleep, I heard it again. Now, I was extremely scared. Once I had gotten over what happened, I finally fell asleep.
