"Love is the clasp of a bracelet—holding together even the most delicate threads."
Madison's POV
It's been a week since the prom. Our fun days are over as we are to be greeted with calculus finals tomorrow.
I knew I needed help in recalling the lessons we had the past weeks, but when I asked my friends to set a study session together, they all said they needed to review on their own. As an understanding friend, the only reason I saw was to ask Avery.
Asking her would've been the last option, but the way she has helped me in the midterms goes to show how great she is of a teacher—and maybe as a friend?
"Ang aga mo ata, Madison," Avery's soft voice pulled me from my thoughts as she sat beside me.
"Yeah, I mean, I'm asking so much of your time so," I said, a little sheepish.
This was our third study session of the week, kaya medyo kampante na rin ako with her.
She gave me a small, easy smile before pulling out her laptop. "Set up ko lang ito."
As she was scrolling through the book pages, I noticed she wasn't wearing anything on her right hand. Wasn't Colleen supposed to give her a bracelet at prom? Ano 'yun, siya lang nagbigay?
"Avery," I called out to her softly. "Hindi mo suot 'yung bracelet?"
"Anong bracelet?" she asked, looking puzzled.
"Hindi ka binigyan ni Collen?" I asked, watching as recognition flickered in her eyes. "I mean, if okay lang tanungin."
"Oo naman," Avery smiled, a little more gently this time. "Well, binigyan ako ni Col, pero I'm not used to wearing accessories kasi, so tinago ko na lang."
Her answer seemed simple enough, but something about it felt layered, like there was more to it.
So, nasa kanya pa 'yung bracelet. Tinago niya. Does it mean she doesn't like Colleen kaya hindi niya sinusuot or did she care so much that she didn't want to risk damaging it?
