My Professor's Little Girl

Dr. Kingstin POV

Our outdoor class was going to be eventful, so I had to be there sooner than everyone else. The students were coming in dressed sportily, so I had to wear something appropriate, which had to be one of my gym clothes. As I was getting dressed after taking a shower, Daniel called and said there was an urgent meeting that I needed to attend this morning, which was perfect because I'd have time for the meeting and get to university on time. It disturbed me, though, that he seemed anxious over the phone. Every waking day, I will be grateful to Daniel for managing the company so well while I was away at school, so that if he phoned me and said he needed help with something, I would pop up and offer my assistance. Today was no exception, as I got into my car, drove through the sunlight, arrived at work, and parked in my designated place. When I got out of the car, I realized the gym clothes I was wearing were inappropriate for the situation. Then again, I'm the CEO. I don't have to follow the rules I created, and it would be too much work to change and change back.

I entered through the normal door because the conference room was only a few flights above. As I went in, my female workers, who are nurses at the front desk, couldn't stop gazing at me and following my every move. I guess I looked extremely good in this workout outfit. I was delighted to see Daniel at the meeting hall's entrance. He was not startled when our eyes met and saw what I was wearing.

"You know these female nurses are all staring at your body." Daniel remarked.

"Sounds like a them issue because all this already belongs to one woman." I responded as I marched into the room, unsurprised to see that everyone was already sitting and waiting, while Daniel followed behind me, but what bothered me was that the members of this meeting were the leaders and directors of various groups at the corporation, which could only mean one thing.

"Sorry for arriving late, I had one or two things to do. I am glad to see that you all are looking bright and sharp." I complimented and took my seat overlooking all of them as Daniel stood by his chair to my right hand side which means he was going to cheer the meeting.

"Before we begin, I apologize for the way I look right now. I have somewhere to be." I clarified.

"No problem sir" The room echoed and that was Daniel's que to proceed with the meeting.

The projector turned on, and his slide presentation started. It first showed the company's building as normal, followed by the true matter at hand. My company was slipping behind since we still had money to support it, but the actual issue was how to move forward, which surprised me. I felt the company was doing well. How is it possible that all of this occurred in less than six months?

Then the next slide appeared and that made my boil run cold

"As we can see from last month's update the accounts were showing that everything was going on well until without the knowing of our head of finances Mr. Andrews.." Daniel spoke as I turned to look at Mr. Andrews then went back to the screen to see what Daniel was saying.

"I secretly went, uncovered the financial records of the company because I can with the position I hold and saw that a huge amount of money is not accounted for. So before I expose you Mr. Andrews please tell the board where the money went to?"

I folded my arms across my chest looking very angry as I held Mr. Andrews' gaze. I have had a weird feeling about this man but it never really clicked so now it is starting to make some sense. I watched as sweat from an imaginary source started following from his head. He was wasting the precious time that I do not even have. The whole room became dull and lacked the same energy I entered to meet.

"I will not spare you all the details since cats got Mr. Andrews' tongue." Daniel finally spoke up. "Mr. Andrews' Peterson has embezzled over $20M and in the next slide are pictures of what this money was used for."
