Ranvir headed to work, but his mind was consumed with thoughts of Sia. He couldn't help but wonder how challenging it must be for her to cope with such a significant loss at such a young age. Later that evening, he returned home a little earlier than usual, feeling a strong urge to be there for her, knowing how sensitive she was. Upon arriving, he was taken aback by the sight before him. Maa and Sia were sharing a laugh over something, with Sia balancing serving plates in her hands while his mom made her way to the kitchen. The moment Sia laid her eyes on Ranvir, she glided towards him, enveloping him in a gentle embrace. Ranvir, feeling the warmth of her presence, pulled her closer and whispered tenderly into her ear, “Are you alright, Siu?” Sia raised her gaze to meet his, a silent affirmation in her nod. Her eyes, still glistening from tears shed earlier, spoke volumes. In a sweet gesture, Ranvir pressed a soft kiss upon her eyelids. They were caught in that awkward moment when Maa strolled in from the kitchen. The second she appeared, they jumped apart like they’d just touched a live wire! Sia’s face turned a shade of red that could rival a ripe tomato. Maa couldn’t help but burst into laughter at their antics. Trying to recover, Ranvir stammered, “Maa…! Uh, your saree looks absolutely stunning! You really shouldn’t risk it in the kitchen. Why don’t you take a break while I whip up something?” Maa grinned, clearly enjoying the moment, and gave a cheeky nod. Off Ranvir went to the kitchen. Just as Sia was about to plop down, Maa chimed in, “Beta! Could you fetch me a glass of water?” Sia nodded eagerly, but as she turned to leave, Maa added with a twinkle in her eye, “No need to rush back!” Sia turned even redder and scurried off. Sia walked into the kitchen, and as soon as Ranvir saw her, they both shared a laugh. He enveloped her in a warm embrace once more. Sia felt a sense of ease as she settled into the cozy couch. Gently stroking her hair, Ranvir inquired, “How was your day? Did Maa see Massi?” Sia shook her head and replied, “Massi didn’t come. But honestly, today was better than it usually is. I had Maa with me, and we had a lot of fun together.” Ranvir was taken aback by her response. “Massi didn’t come? But why not? If she truly cared about her sister and her niece, she should have been here to support hee. How could she leave Sia feeling so alone? And if she had nothing to do with it, why did she show up the day before?”
Ranvir was lost in his thoughts when Sia gently nudged him awake, “Ranvir! Are you even paying attention?” He blinked and noticed her eyes twinkling with happiness. Oh dear, he had missed so much of what she said! She looked at him with the cutest expression, like a little puppy. Not quite sure what she had shared, he replied, “Oh no, I’m totally listening… Please go on!” With a burst of enthusiasm, Sia exclaimed, “So guess what! Today, Maa and I went to the market. You won’t believe it—she snagged a 1000Rs item for just 300! I was so shocked! We wandered around, chatting and shopping, and then we watched ‘Chupke Chupke.’ It was my first time, and I couldn’t stop giggling! It was just so delightful!” Sia was sharing her day with such bubbly excitement, like a little kid! Ranvir found himself enveloped in the purity of her innocence, a bittersweet ache swelling in his chest. Just as tears threatened to spill, he pulled her into a warm embrace. Sia paused, sensing the shift in his demeanor. Gently stroking his back, she inquired, “What’s wrong all of a sudden?” To mask his turmoil, he replied playfully, “Why? Can’t I hug my wife?” A soft smile graced Sia’s lips as she responded, “You can hug me anytime, love. No need to ask.” In that moment, Ranvir marveled at her untainted spirit. He recognized that even with her mother by her side, Sia still felt the void of her own mother’s absence. After a long, exhausting day, she radiated joy, and he couldn’t bear to shatter that happiness by mentioning her aunt. So, he held her close, cherishing the moment. After a few days together, Maa departed for her home. Sia waved as the train left the station, her heart heavy from the close bond they had formed. Observing her sadness, Ranvir grasped her wrist and urged, "Let’s go! I have something to tell you." They returned home, where Ranvir brewed tea for them both and sat down in front of her, his demeanor unusually grave. Sia, sensing the tension, cradled his face in her hands and inquired, "Is everything all right, Ranvir? You look quite worried." With a gentle demeanor, Ranvir moved closer, taking her hands in his, his voice heavy with emotion as he began, “You see… actually…!” Sia, her heart racing with concern, urged him, “What do you mean? Please, just tell me!” He pressed a soft kiss to her hands and, with a rush of excitement, announced, “Our NGO project has become a tremendous success for the company, and I’m going to receive the award for the best photographer in the city next week…!” Sia’s eyes widened in disbelief, and she leaped up, her joy spilling over as she wrapped her arms around him, exclaiming, “Whatttttt? Is that really true? I’m so incredibly happy!” In their exuberance, they lost their footing and tumbled to the ground, pausing for a moment before laughter erupted between them. Sia planted a lingering kiss on his cheek, her happiness radiating like sunshine. Holding him tightly, she said, tears of joy shimmering in her eyes, “I always believed in you, Ranvir! You’ve put in so much effort, my love! I’m so proud of you!” With a delicate touch, Ranvir drew back, his hand tenderly cupping her face. He lovingly wiped away her tears and placed a gentle kiss upon her forehead. “I see you, Siu… You were my anchor during the storm,” he spoke softly. “Your relentless effort alongside me has made this moment possible. This award is not just for me; it is a celebration of us both.”
