I closed my eyes as I was suddenly dragged under water. The cool water hit my skin, and the feeling of Walden's hands around me left. The small ping of sadness by the lost touch was gone when I heard his voice. "Open your eyes. And stop holding your breath. You look like a bloated pufferfish. " He laughed. I opened my eyes to see Walden a few steps or swims away. I immediately blushed hard seeing that instead of his usual pompendor, he had his hair down. His blue locks flowed like the waves. I looked away to embarrassed. I then realized I was breathing. I was breathing underwater!? Touching the necklace Walden had given me, I traced the symbols on it. " It a talisman. It's one of my works." I looked at him confused. "I make potions, spells, talismans, and runes to sell to others." Impressive a creative businessman. Can he be any more alluring? Now that I was adjusted to the feel of the water, I noticed that I could see perfectly clear, like looking through blue tinted glass. Wow, the lot of our stuff did litter the ocean floor. I could see our ruined ship and items either floating in the water or stuck in the sand on the sea floor. Walden grabbed my hand, leading me down to the sand. "You start digging up those barrels. I'll catch the floating objects." Walden told me. "Hey, why do you get the easy job?!" Walden gave me smug look. "Because this trash doesn't belong to me. And need I remind you. You can't swim. The only reason you are still alive is due to that necklace, or you'd sink." I pouted.  I started waving and kicking my arms and legs, trying to swim to Walden. "What are you doing?" He gave me a confused look. "Swimming," I answered while accidentally managing to flip myself upside down. "Darling, you look like a baby sea turtle trapped in a current.  While cute, you may be it's completely useless, " He commented, laughing. His laugh sounded like heartful music to my ears compared to our other encounters. It made me blush. "Wait, did you just call me cute?" I asked, still flustered. "No, I called you attempt cute. There's a difference."Walden looked away, avoiding my gaze. "Anyways, get back to work. We don't have all night." He put me back upright and swam away. "He likes me!" I silently giggled.

I started digging out the barrels after a while.Walden came to help me. He had collected all the items floating about and put them in a barrel he threw on the beach. "Soooo, what's it like living underwater? It seems kinda lonely here." I asked. Walden paused for second. Like he was deciding on whether to tell me something or not. He sighed. "No, it's not only at all intact. I have friends or coworkers." I nodded, then a sudden thought came into my mind. "Do you have a family. Like a wife and kids?" I asked as I pulled another barrel out and let it float to the surface. Walden seemed to freeze up at that question. He seemed to tighten his grip on a chest he was holding. His hands seem to tremble. "Uh- Walden?" I reached out to him but stopped when he gave me a piercing side glare. "I do not wish to talk about it." He turned back around and continued to sling the cargo  out of the way. "Did I say something wrong?" I thought to myself. Lost in thought, I noticed the ruined ship not too far away. Maybe some stuff was left behind there? I managed to sling myself over to it. Inside, it was dark. Using the walls to guide me, I noticed James medical bag. "We will need this." I reached for it, but I felt something swim behind me. I looked back, but nothing was there. "Walden?" I whispered. I turned back to grab the medical bag, but as I did, something fell over onto my hand. I screamed when I was met with a decomposing Benny. I failed away and immediately bumped into something else. Hearing growling, I slowly turned to be met with rows of sharp teeth. I screamed and used the bag to hit whatever it was out of the way. I propelled myself to the open walll screaming for Walden.  Then I felt a sharp pain  on my ankle. I cried, trying to grab at anything to keep the monster from pulling me back inside. I could feel its teeth digging into my leg, and blood tinted the water. "This is it. im going to die!" I cried. Then I felt a felt a strong force swim past me, and the monster let go. All I heard was a loud thud. I looked back to see Walden growling at what looked like a squid, but it had rows of sharp teeth where its mouth should have been.  The squid immediately started trying to tangle Walden up in its tentacles only for him to evade. With his sharp claws, he cut off one of them and grabbed the other, tearing it from the monster's body. It let out a horrible scream. It let out some kind of ink that seemed to surround us. I coughed and tried waving it away. Then I heard Walden snarl. The monster had used its remaining tentacles to wrap Walden up and started to drag him close to its open mouth. Walden struggled against it. "I have to do something. Think think think"  I immediately grabbed James medical bag and took out his hunting knife.  I dug my foot into the sand and lunged myself at the monster stabbing it next to its eye. The monster stretched and it's tentacles became loose. Walden to the chance to grab the monster by its mouth. He used his strength to tear the monster apart. The poor thing let out grudge noise then started floating up. I was breathing heavily. "Thanks" I managed to say. Walden waved me off. " Thank you as well," He breathed out.  I gave him the same waving motion then collapsed. My ankle hurt like hell and the bit marks looked beep. Idk if James will be able to heal this. I suddenly felt strong arms lift me. I looked up to see Walden. He swam out of the boat and to the surface. He sat me on a rock near the shore.

"Let me see your leg" He said. I weakly lifted it up and he took it into his hands. Wow his hand felt soft. He was being gentle. Walden then paced his other hand on the wound. "Im gonna heal it. Are you OK with this?" He asked . I nodded. He closed his eyes and started humming. The melody sounded familiar then I placed it. It was the song from the healing spell he used on the whale. My leg started to feel warm and tinkling. Walden then started singing. His beautiful melody was calming and the pain started to fade. A warm feeling came over me and all I saw were colors. It was coming from my wound. The colors danced around like fireflies on beams of colored lights. Then the melody faded away and so did the colors. Walden gently checked over my leg. The wound was gone completely. I smiled and tested my ankle. Good as new. "Thanks" I said looking into Walden's eyes. "It's no problem. I should have warned you about the creature that lurk here. I'm sorry" I laughed it off "It's fine, Walden you save me. " Walden looked at me with a new foundness. "You should go back. We've done enough work for today and I don't want that captain of yours yelling at you for Fallin asleep on the job." Walden grabbed my hand and lead me to the shore. I walked back on to the beach. "I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked. Walden smiled. "Until we meet again my treasure" He sank back into the water and I blushed. I touched the necklace he gave me. "Not bad for a first date, huh" I asked myself as I started going back to the base.
