The day began with Dennis telling everyone what to do as usual. He wanted to use the remaining life boats as a way to build a ship that could carry us all out of here. That idea quickly got shot down by Sam saying the life boats frame works didn't connect properly, and without our tools, it would be useless to try. "What if we created two rafts big enough to hold a team of us so we could defend it while getting out of this place?" Jermey suggested. "I've seen that thing. He's huge he could easily capsize us with a flick of his tail." I explained. "He?" Dennis raised an eyebrow at me. "Yeah. He. I did tell you guys he spoke to me." Dennis gave me a suspicious look, and I immediately looked away. Did he think I had something to do with this stuff happening? "Well, I'm going to see if I can find some plants to make more medical supplies." James said as he headed into the jungle. "Be careful, doc." Sam called after him. He smirked and waved her off. Sam walked off to the camp with Cheri following behind her. "Welp, imma go see if I can find anything to use as a weapon. I'm still set on that raft idea. A boat would be impossible to build, and this is the best shot we have." Jermey stood up from where he was sat. I began to walk off, but not before I heard Dennis say something under his breath. "Maybe not the only one...". I continued to walk like I heard nothing. What did he mean by that? Did Dennis have an idea? I went back to camp to see Sam tending to Briggett. Ever since the attack, she hasn't been the same. She was usually very confident and stuck up. She'd flont her golden blonde hair and make all the boys swoon. But now all she did was sit there staring at anything. Everyone has tried to get her to speak, but nothing.
"Y/n, do you mind starting the fire back up. I'm gonna try to cook the leftovers we have for her." I nodded and started grabbing dry wood from the edge of the jungle. I could hear Jeremy and Rich arguing while Dennis kept sketching on a piece of paper. Sam's soothing voice as she consoled Bridget. Despite our situation, this might be the most peace we've had in forever. I walked back over and started striking the dried sticks with a flint.

The sun set with today being another uneventful day. There is no permanent solution to get out of here, and gladly, there is no further drama from Dennis. We all gathered around the fire. Sam had cooked garlic rice and salmon. As we ate Dennis, it gave me a look of suspicion. "What's your deal with that thing?" I stopped eating swallowing what food I had in my mouth.
"What?"
"What the deal with you and the creature? Jeremy told me he heard you talking to it back on the ship."
Should I tell them the truth about Walden. No. They would think of me as suspicious. I'll just stretch the truth a little. That's not so bad, right? "I heard singing and saw a bright light from the window of the cargo hold. So I went on deck to see what it was. It was the creature. " I explained. "Why didn't you tell us about this sooner, honey?" Sam asked, looking at me concerned. "You guys thought I was crazy. So I thought if I told you I'd get punished again." Everyone looked away with apologetic looks on their faces.  I heard crying coming from the leader tent. Dennis sighed and got up. He grabbed a second bowl of food and went inside the tent. "I hope she gets better," James said. I nodded. Bridgette hasn't spoken to any of us since the incident. I think she is too traumatized by the experience. "She's lucky she didn't get the Jeremy treatment. Ha." Richard joked. "Well, I don't think he'd point a gun at his...ahem...plaything," Jeremy whispered. Everyone snickered quietly. It wasn't a secret that Bridgette liked Dennis, but Dennis, being like his father in more ways than one, flirted with almost everyone. "At least he's more attractive than the captain. I never liked it when he flirted with me, " Cheri said. "Ooooooh, so you find the new Captain attractive, huh?" I teased. "When he's not choking me out," Cheri responded with a light-hearted laugh.  "You know I can hear you guys... right," Dennis called from the tent. We all burst out laughing. "Go to bed. We wake up at dawn."
We all scrambled to our tents. Jeremy and I laid down in our makeshift beds. "Sorry for telling him about that," Jeremy whispered. "He asked, and I didn't know what to say. I didn't know he'd be suspicious of ya."
"It's fine." I turned over to my side and closed my eyes.

Hours passed, and for some reason, I couldn't sleep. It was late in the night. Everyone else had long gone to bed. I sat up and was immediately started by Jeremy loud snore. Jeremy was in a position that made him look like a dead animal you'd find on the streets. I quietly laughed. My thoughts were interrupted by humming. It was that beautiful song again. The deep haunting melody is calling me. My body moved on its own and left the tent. I moved towards the beach, stopping at the shore. Then I could move again. "You know I would've come here without being compelled." Looking over to see the creature on a rock facing the moon. He turned his head to give me a glace. "I thought you'd be asleep. I can't have you ditching responsibilities." He responded. "I worked all daaaay," I sighed. Walden rolled his eyes. He gracefully slid back into the water. "Come here."
I look at him with a confused expression. "You know I can't swim, right?"
"Oh, im well aware you proved that in our first encounter. Now come here." My legs felt like they were going to collapse. Is he going to eat me? Drown me? Or maybe he'd kis- no! no! My dreams are talking. "Are you going to continue to stand there mumbling to yourself, or do I have to command you?" Walden asked.
"I-i"
"Or maybe you'd like that. You are nothing but a pet. You need to be told what to do and how to do it. Don't worry, pet, I'll help you. Come here." His voice echoed. I immediately started walking into the water. My fear gone with the wind because all I could focus on was Walden's crimson glowing eyes. I stopped in front of him. He towered over me. His big build blocked out the moon, casting a shadow on me. The moon behind him gave him a glowing aura, making him look majestic. My heart fluttered. I felt something get placed around my neck, but I didn't see what it was still looking into his eyes. I felt relaxed peaceful. I felt an arm go around my waist. "Are you ready?" He asked. The question brought my back to reality. "Uh um for?" Walden laughed sinisterly. "This." All of a sudden, I dragged under water. I let out a yelp that was drowned out by the waves. Then silence.

But one person heard it. Heard it all. A person that wasn't asleep like everyone else. Hiding behind the trees and in the shadows. "So you do know this creature more than you're letting on. Maybe that could be our advantage."
