Laughter echoed through the yard as 11-year-old Sophia darted away from her older siblings, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Her baby brother sat on the porch, watching in awe as the older kids played, clapping his tiny hands with every twist and turn.
“Careful, Sophia! Don’t trip!” her mother called out, her voice light but laced with concern.Sophia barely heard her, focused entirely on escaping the playful pursuit of her brother and sister. Her feet moved fast, heart pounding with excitement. But suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over her, making the ground seem to tilt beneath her. Her steps faltered.
  And then, she fell.
Suddenly the air was quiet “Sophia!” her siblings cried out, rushing to her side. “Mom! Dad! What happened to Sophia?” Their voices cracked with panic as they knelt beside their sister, who lay still on the grass. The baby brother’s giggles turned to wails, and their mother’s heart clenched with fear. She dropped everything and ran over, her voice shaky as she shouted, “Call the ambulance! Now!” Sophia’s father, caught in the rush of panic, fumbled with his phone as the neighbors began to gather, drawn by the sudden commotion.Minutes felt like hours, but after 10 long, agonizing minutes, the wail of the ambulance broke through the chaos. Paramedics arrived, swiftly loading Sophia onto the stretcher, her mother clutching her hand, fear etched into her face. They sped off toward the hospital, leaving the family standing in the yard, their world forever changed.
