Chapter 23- Important To You

I was jealous when Ross and Connor left me to see Ashley. I admit it. I mean like my best friend and boyfriend left me to see a pretty girl who is like two years older than me. Of course they would go over there and it was Ross' idea to go over there. Is he bored with me? Okay we have to go on a date soon, Am I asking to much when I stay at his house? Maybe I'll just talk to him about it. I look back over to Ross and Connor and I see them smiling at Ashley then they walk back over to me.

"Hey guys ready to go?" Riker asked when they walked over to us. They nodded but first I grabbed Ross' hand.

"You, me. Date this Friday at eight." I said with smirk. He smiled.

"Yes ma'am." He said with a salute and we started walking to the car.

"What's got you guys so happy?" I asked hoping I didn't sound rude.

"Oh nothing it's just that we got a job!" Ross yelled with excitement . Ooohh they were getting a job. Why would they need jobs?  Ugh it's none of my business. Maybe I'm getting a little too clingy. I dont want to be that type of best friend/girlfriend. Maybe that's why they want to get jobs. Maybe I am too clingy. I mean, I have been staying at Ross' house for quite some time now and I didn't even say thank you. Maybe I can plan some type of thing to say thank you. But how am I supposed to plan with no money or help. Wait a minute.

"Ross, what if I worked with you and Connor at the ice cream shop?" I asked beaming but he didn't look quite pleased. He looked at Connor and Connor looked back at him with an uneasy face.

"Whats wrong? You don't want me to work with you, do you?" I asked knowing I was right.

"N-no that not it at all. Right Ross?"Connor asked looking nervous. Ross looked a Connor then back at me and sighed.

"Look, Laura it's not that we don't want to work with you it's just that we were planning to work together. Just us as buddies, pals, mates, amigos, future step brothers- "

"Okay I get it you guys just want to hang out as guys. I can accept that." I say with a smile.

"Thanks Laura." They said. The rest of the car ride was silent. When we got to the house I went upstairs into Rydel's and got changed inside of her room. Wow I feel terrible. I ran in here and didn't even asked to borrow her clothes. I did by even say thank you. At least Jessica ask. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the door shut and Rydel walked in and I ran to give her a hug and she hugged me back.

"What's this for?" She asked.

"Thank you." I said ignoring her question and holding her tighter.

"Its no problem Laur . Your like a sister that I've never had. I'm so grateful that you met Ross.  He's been so happy lately. Everyone has been so happy lately with you around."

"Thanks that means a lot to me."

"Eh you guys both mean a lot me." I heard a voice say. We turned around to see Ross. We both smiled at him and he smiled. He walked over to us and hugged both of us.

"Two out of my four favorite girls."

"Who are the other two?" Rydeasked, stealing the words right out of my mouth.

"Mom and Jessica." He said.

"Why Jessica?"

"One because it's obvious that Rocky and Ruler both like her so one of them are going to end up being her boyfriend which makes me a temporary brother in law. Two because she is important to you."
