A year later...

Aurellia looked into a mirror as she brushed her teeth. She spat out the toothpaste and cleaned her lips before she fixed her hair and checked her outfit.  Unlike the suit she wore before, she was now wearing a dark blue over the shoulder crop-top over a light blue tank-top. This was also paired with light gray jeans and black boots along with her choker and sapphire necklace. Once she finished, she walked out of the bathroom. Walking through the small living room, she grabbed her bag and slipped on a pair of sunglasses over her eyes. Her new home, a small apartment which had a few small things inside, now was filled with soft white furniture, cheap-yet-beautiful paintings and small trinkets, a blue, fluffy rug, and a fully equipped kitchen and dinette set. Her home. So, in a nutshell, you can say she basically became your regular Joe....or "Jane" in this case. Suddenly, her phone rang. Looking at the screen, a glowing smile crossed her face as she immediately answered.

"Dev! How's my little buddy doing?" She asked happily as she walked out the door.

"Hhhh...could be better. Dad went to a meeting in new york city without telling me" a young boy, Dev Dimmadome replied, causing her smile to falter.

Dev was one of the more special kids because his dad was rich and never spent any time with him. It made her heart ache that he was going through this at such a young age.

"Hey, it's okay. But since you're dad is gone, guess who you get to hang out with!" She told him.

Oh, did I mention that Aurellia was Dev's babysitter? Yeah, after she ran away from home, she came to Dimidelphia to get a fresh start. One day, she saw a flyer advertising a opportunity to become a babysitter. Sure, she only ever looked after her younger cousins a few times growing up but she figured it wasn't that different. Boy, was she wrong. The first time she looked after him, Dev was a...brat to say the least. Her guess was that he was trying to scare her off. But, seeing how he was just a angry, sad kid that just wanted parental love, she stuck around. Now they were inseparable. They were best friends and, dare I say that she loved him like he was her own son.

"SWEET! I can't wait to hang out with you! When will you get here?" He asked.

"I'm on my way right now. See you soon!" She told him before they said goodbye and hung up.

She sighed and smiled as she walked through the city. The small breeze gently pushed her hair as the smell of lavender and fresh flower blossoms filled the air. It was a perfect day to be outside. Then again, it was the weekend so why wouldn't it be? Back home, it was always cloudy or raining, so this was a nice change of mood and pace. She then wondered how everything was going back there. How her father and brother were doing. Though they could be massive jerks, she still loved them. And, she missed them. Not that she'd ever admit it outloud. But one thing was for sure, she was happy no one knew about her father of her mobster family. Everyone would fear her then. But she didn't want to think about that. Right now she needed to focus on something much more important. Taking care of her little buddy. After about ten minutes, she arrived outside the Dimmadome mansion.

As she was about to knock, Dev ran out and hugged her.

"Aurellia!" He cheered happily.

"Hey little buddy!"

They stayed like this for a good minute before he let her go.

"So, what should we do first?" She asked him after he broke the hug.

"Hmm....raid a froyo place?" He suggested.

"Sounds like a plan!"

She then gently picked him up and placed him on her shoulders before the duo started their journey to the nearest froyo shop.
