The next day, inside the helicopter, Dev lounged on his side in the passenger seat, propping his head up and his blue eyes covered by his sleek sunglasses. Seated in the pilot seat next to him was Aurellia dug her nails into the seat for dear life, not liking the flight at all, while Peri hovered between the two.
"I wish everyone will think I look really cool when I get out of the helicopter" Dev articulated his wish, emphasizing on the word "cool" as he slipped off his glasses only to slip them back on with a confident smile.
With a grin, the fairy godparent raised his wand into the air, preparing to grant the wish for his godchild. However, before he got the chance, Dev interjected, waving his hands around frantically as he sat up.
"Wait, no!" He said, causing Peri's smile to falter just the slightest.
"I wish everyone will think that I look powerful" he corrected.
With a slight tinge of hesitation, Peri looked at Aurellia before raising his wand again to grant the wish.
"No, no, no, no. Wait!" Dev said as he leapt to his feet, interrupting his godparent again.
Both adults froze in place while his wand emitted a soft golden glow. After a moment Dev s face broke into a wide grin before he laughed in amusement.
"I'm just messing with ya" he said, looking at Peri who responded with a unamused stare.
"Well, I wish to be out of this helicopter, Dev. Please hurry up" Aurellia pleaded, her body slightly trembling in fear.
He rolled his eyes at her silly fear. But he nodded once.
"Now, execute my wish!" He dictated.
With a poof of periwinkle colored clouds, the helicopter's door opened with a hiss and Aurellia came out in a blue and black suit and dress. Jumping out of the aircraft, she sleekly rolled as she touched the ground before smoothly rising to her feet. Then she reached inside the inner pocket of her blazer and pulled out a pair of sunglasses, slipping them on with ease before adjusting her new attire. Following her entrance, Peri in the form of a horse leapt from the helicopter carrying Dev on his back. Dev stood in a power pose and wore a extravagant flamboyant ensemble which consisted of of classic Dimmadome hat, dramatic sunglasses, a opulent royal cape, and ridiculously high-heel boots. Dev's classmates looked at him in astonishment, some even grabbing their phones and taking pictures, The flash from their cameras lighting up the place. Meanwhile, a short distance away, nearby the museum entrance, Hazel Wells, Dev's former (?) friend, looked at him with suspicion. Unknowest to Dev and Aurellia, she was also a godchild of two fairies- none other then Peri's parents and Aurellia's nextdoor neighbors, Cosmo and Wanda, who was disguised as fidget keychains attached to her bag.
"He's up to something" Hazel told her godparents as she narrowed her eyes in his direction.
Meanwhile, Peri walked down the sidewalk with Dev standing confidently on his back as he waved to his classmates as the trio passed them.
"Wow, he looks so powerful."
"He can fit a horse in the helicopter."
"Is he a king?"
As he walked down the sidewalk, Peri's face held a charming smile before he let out a tired sigh.
"Ugh, you're tired already? get moving" Dev demanded after groaning in exasperation.
"I wouldn't be so tired if you haven't spent all morning wishing for the perfect cupcake" he replied, his voice barely holding back the fact he was annoyed.

Earlier that day...
In Dev's bedroom, he laid on his bed with his sunglasses on as Peri floated nearby, a face of utter boredom on his face. With a wave of his wand, a cupcake appeared in Dev's outstretched hand. After taking a bite, the young boy tasted it thoughtfully before he displayed his disgust.
"Wrong. Try again" he said, tossing the cupcake aside and gestured for another one.
Once again, Peri waved his wand, causing a new cupcake to appear in the kid's hand.
He bit into it like the last one, only to give the same reaction and toss it across the room.
"Wrong! Try again" he repeated with a hit of frustration in his voice.
"You know, perfection is subjective. You might want to ask for a specific flavor" Peri told him, his voice rising a little bit from how irritated he was getting.
In response, Dev sat up and leaned closer to the fairy.
"I said "Wrong. Try again," he repeated, over-pronouncing each word before he laid back down and beckoned for another cupcake.
Rubbing his forehead in frustration, he then gritted his teeth and raised his wand, conjuring up a gigantic cupcake over Dev's head.
"What in the world is going on here-" Aurellia asked as she came in through the elevator in her blue satin tank top and pajama shorts that was covered with yellow stars and her hair in a cute morning mess.
Then the gigantic cupcake splattered all over the place, making a huge mess. She blinked as the two boys, who were also covered with cupcake goop, simultaneously pointed accusatory fingers at eachother.
"He did it!" They said in unison.
The air cracked with tension as they both shot glares at each other as Aurellia stood there, too shocked to even speak as she blinked her wide eyes, a glob of frosting slipping off her head as she did.

Present moment...
Peri nervously chuckled at the memory as he continued to make his way down the sidewalk, Dev still standing on his back and waving. Suddenly, he stopped, flinging Dev off his back as he did. Quickly noticing, Aurellia acted fast and caught him before he hit the ground and could get hurt.
"My parents!" Peri explained with a gasp, caught off guard by their presence.
"Hey, why are you stopping?" Dev asked, getting his attention.
"We're near Hazel, and I haven't talked to her since our argument at the Founder's day festival" he added.
"I haven't seen them since they got back from their 10,000-year vacation. I haven't even told them that I'm godparenting yet" he confessed with a touch of guilt written in.
"Why? Are you scared of them or something?" Aurellia asked him, only to get a nervous "Ehhh" in response.
"What are you two talking about?" Dev butted into their conversation.
"Ugh, just, look cool as we pass."
Soon enough, Dev and Peri were floating pass everyone on a cloud, looking cool as they did. Aurellia quickly walked after them with her day bag hanging on her shoulder.
"He's definitely up to something" Hazel concluded.
