Cover Story: THE PAST NEVER DIES
Waking up in the hospital, the ashy blonde boy turned his head to see his sleeping mother being illuminated by the moonlight behind her.
Reaching out his hand to touch his mother's hand, Katsuki abruptly stopped when he heard an unfamiliar voice call out to him. "Katsuki Bakugo."
Snapping his head around, the teen winced in pain before widening his eyes to see his swords glowing. "Ah, the kid can hear us." The black sword (Kachibara) laughed.
"W-What? Am I hallucinating?" The teen wondered.
"No you're not, grab us and set us beside you." The orange sword (Tenren) commanded.
Heeding the sword's words, Katsuki sat up and grabbed the swords to set them beside him on his hospital bed. Resting his head once more, he waited for the swords to talk once more. "Your wounds are pretty bad, you were in critical condition but we helped." The white blade (Dankest Uchitamashi) revealed.
"We know you're thinking about how we could've possibly helped you so let me explain it. Against Nine, you finally began to assimilate with us and become our true owner. After you were badly injured, we all assimilated with you to heal you meaning we can now talk with you directly and do other things like heal you." Kachibara stated, confusing the teen.
"No one told me this would happen," Bakugo replied.
"That's because they don't know about this, not even your master knew about this. When we were created we were given sentients and our main objective was to only help masters who truly understood us. Your master has a pretty good understanding of Ichiji but not good enough. You on the other hand... you get us pretty well." Tenren explained.
Thinking over what his swords just said, Katsuki looked down at his wounds and wondered, "So if you can heal me what else can you do?"
"Help you in battle and lend you our full strength." The angelic voice of Danketsu Uchiamashi replied.
"Hey, that's not all, if you carry us around you can talk to us. We've noticed how lonely you can get when working out alone." Kachibara cackled.
"Shut up will ya," Bakugo told the copy blade. "Wait hold on, now that I can speak to you, Kachibara what's the meaning behind your name?" The teen asked.
Clearing its... sword throat? Sheath? Kachibara revealed, "Kachi means stiff or nervous and Bara means innocent and select. Essentially, alone I'm useless because I'm nervous and innocent, but with other swords, I can select their abilities and synchronise with them."
"I remember when the man who gave us to you tried to use us individually. We didn't like him, he's too revengeful so it'd spoil us. I'm surprised Kotuzen accepted him." Tenren noted.
