It was a day after the war had ended and the entire public was in complete shock at the outcome. Even though the heroes had won, the casualties on both sides and unresponsive heroes who were in comas had the entire world on pause.
Out of the top ten heroes worldwide, six of them were at least heavily injured and a few of them were confirmed dead.
This meant the entire world went into a mourning phase.
The heroes who stood at the top who weren't severely injured, made sure to let the world know that their statements were coming soon and that hero society wasn't going to be on pause even if the main threats were gone and the top heroes had lost many amongst their ranks.
"Are you ready?" Nezu asked his associates.
"Yeah, I'm not one for speeches but I got it," Stars and Stripes sighed as she opened the door to be blinded by many flashes.
Covering their eyes, the heroes walked to their respective podiums and all was good until somebody that the world had come to hate walked out, "A CRIMINAL STANDS AMONGST YOU?!" A reporter yelled, turning the crowd rampant.
"Yes we understand all of your frustrations but please relax and hear everything!" Present Mic told everyone, calming down the crowd for a moment.
"Now everybody, yesterday morning, we and many other brave souls raided the large criminal base of The Ruler and many other notorious villains to bring justice and peace to this world and even though it wasn't the smoothest operation, we won. We triumphed, but I will tell you all this now, we would've never triumphed if it weren't for the help of this woman here. You may hate her, but we respect her, she is someone who we can all see as a good person, maybe even a hero despite her past and I say despite her past but even whilst she did bad things, none of you truly know her past and know what she has done for many of us even whilst being a criminal, she should be respected as-"
"Thank you Stars but I don't deserve for you to be making pointers for me," Sand King smiled before picking up the piece of paper in front of her to ball it up and throw it behind her. "You know, hero society is much different from what I expected. As a criminal who was on the run for most of my life, I always fantasised about what I'd be like if I didn't have to do what I did to survive, what if I had run away with my younger sister instead of being wrapped around my older sister's finger? What would my life have been like? Would Sand King and Queen be the unstoppable duo of sisters? Oh, you guys didn't even know that we were all sisters did you? There's so much that all of you don't know and that's my message for all of you today. I know I've done bad and shame me for it, but finally, for once in my life, I can sleep knowing I did something good and that's why I come before you all, not just the journalists in the room with us, but the world, what do you want to befall me? I can do three things, I can leave all of this behind and go into seclusion, or I can join Hero Society and right all the wrongs I did in the past, or I can spend the rest of my days in Tartarus and rot away. I will let you all decide that and whatever choice you make, I'll fully accept it."
