Chp. 16 The Sentinels

Rin and Alicia had walked over to Ricks house to have dinner with them as a welcome to Alexandria. They had met the others there. Rin was surprised to see how Judith and Rick Junior had grown. When she was last here they were both so little. She was happy to see that all of her friends here were still alive, including Abby and her family. Everyone was drinking while they waited for the food to be done.

Rin has learned from Daryl that Maggie was in charge of then Hilltop while Carol was staying at the Kingdom. And that their leader had a tiger named Shiva. She was intrigued by that and wonder how that man tamed a tiger. Negan was also there which confused her as she watch him talk with Judith with a smile on both of their faces.

"Oh that, he had protect Judith awhile ago and earned forgiveness and redemption from Rick." Daryl explained.

"Wow, that's surprising." She said as she took a drink from the beer that was in her hand.

"We're so glad you're here Rin. We really need your help." Daryl said in a whisper.

"What's going on?" She questioned as she stared at him to tell her.

"Rick will explained everything after dinner with you privately." Daryl said in a hushed tone before walking away towards the table when Michonne and Abby started to bringing the dishes out.

Rin eyes followed him with confusion as he had sat down. Alicia approached her after Daryl had left. She touched Rin's arm to tell her that she was there.

"What was that about?" Alicia asked giving her a questioning look.

"I don't know." Rin frown before she grabbed Alicia hand before leading her to the table.

They sat down next to each other as the food was passed around. Everyone ate as they talked within each other.

"So, I'm curious because Rin over there never told us how all of you met." Michonne said with a smile as Rin playfully sent her a glare.

"We were in LA when this whole thing started. I was a guidance counselor then. Rin was attending the school I worked for so I tried to figure out why she was attending even though she had already graduated. She wouldn't tell me of course." Madison explained as Rin continued eating nonchalantly as everyone stared at her.

"Why?" Althea asked.

"It was an assignment." Rin said simply which brought on more unwanted questions.

"Assignment for what and who sent you?" Strand asked which made her groan.

"Ugh fine, I'll explain. After I had already graduated I went into a secret military organization that deals with many situations within the world. I was assigned to LA because of two reasons one being my father and two we got wind of one of our enemies was about to release an outbreak. So they assigned me to the school, suspecting it was one of the kids or staff members. Also I can't tell you the organization name because I swore to keep the name a secret. So don't pester me about it." Rin explained nonchalantly as she continues to eat like it doesn't matter.

"Wait what? You guys suspect it was someone in that school?" Madison said shocked.

"Did you figure out who?" Althea asked which Rin shook her head.

"No, all of my leads were a dead end. Whoever it was good at hiding their tracks. I came close but it was too late by then. The outbreak already started and I was pulled to do other things. After I blew up a hospital I haven't heard anything since from the organization. I was hoping to get answers from my father of what happened but I guess I'll never know." She explained as everyone eyes widen when she mentioned she blew up a hospital.
