~two years later~
A figure stood at the top of the hill of a valley playing the flute. It was a soft sad tune. The bamboo flute was pure black with a white lotus hanging at the end with red strings hanging underneath the lotus. Some of the strings had two black beads on the string at the end. The figure was wearing a black karategi with a black sash and pants. A black katana was on the left side of the figures hip. On the sash was a round bottle and a bag connected to the sash. They wore black shoes that were light but comfortable. They were tall and slim. Their black hood was up so you couldn't tell if they were male or female. Around their wrists was arm wraps. A group of people started walking up to the figure. The group was lead by none other than Virginia.

The figure stopped playing when they heard them approaching them. They turned their head slightly towards them. They were wearing a dark silver grey mask that looked like it was made out of rock but it was made out of aluminum. The mask only covered their eyes, eyebrows, cheek bone, and nose.

"That's some lovely playing you have going on there." Virginia said in her accent. "I have never heard such amazing playing. Nor have I ever heard of that tune before. Did you compose it or was it composed by someone else?"

The figure brought their arms down to their side. Their left hand resting on their katana the other holding the flute. They turned their head forward and looked straight ahead.

"Have you thought about my offer?" Virginia asked with some hope.

The figure turned so their right side was facing Virginia and everyone else.

"I told you...not interested." The person replied revealing that they were a female.

The female started walking away. Virginia watched her walk away. She clenched her hands in anger. Her nose flared in anger but she quickly composed herself.

"My offer still stands!" She yells at her.

The female didn't reply, she just kept walking away. Virginia stomped away with the men that came with her to the cars. Once the female was far away she put her flute behind her back and brought her hood down. Her long black hair fell out. Part of her was half pulled back but there were strands of hair in the front on both sides of her face. She sighs before grabbing the bottle that was on her right side of her sash.

"So annoying. I can't play in peace." She took a long drink from the bottle.

Some would think it was alcohol but truly it was just water. She put it back on her side. She reached down and touch the other pouch. She clenched her jaw tight as her fingers around the pouch tighten but she soon loosen her grip. She reach into the pouch and pulled it out and unfolded it. It read...

"The guzheng zither still plays..."

Underneath the line it was someone signature.

"~A"

She folded the paper back up and put it back into the pouch. She knew exactly who it is because she recognized the handwriting. She knew that it was the person she was looking for deep down. The person that raised her and taught her everything to survive. That person was her father figure named Alec. She wanted to find him because she hasn't seen him since the outbreak started. She was worried and longed to be by his side again. That message meant that he needed help. It was their secret way of communication it was the reason why she left her group two years ago.

She followed the clues and it led her to this area. Where Virginia claimed as her own territory. She knew that Virginia was up to something and she was determined to find out. She brought her left hand up to her chin in a thinking manner as her other arm came across her chest.
