Chapter forty two

"Dragomirs don't run."

Elijah, Vasilisa, Marcel and Hayley were all standing in the clock tower with Freya "so where is Klaus?" Hayley asked "when I told him about Rebekah he said he'd pursue another lead." Freya shared, as Elijah cut into his hand dropping his blood into the bowl  "forget Niklaus. You will find her." he shared, handing the bowl over, Freya took it "are you sure you got enough juju for a worldwide locator spell?" Marcel asked "she's my family. I won't lose her." Freya shared, as she started chanting, she then poured it onto the table and handed the bowl back to Elijah.

They all watched as the blood spread "damn it." Freya said "so much for witch GPS." Hayley said "I assumed they cloak her. I didn't expect a spell this strong." Freya shared "no doubt conjured by the very witch who lured Rebekah into this trap." Elijah shared "you should all go. I have my work cut out for me." Freya told them "the strix trust me. If they know where Rebekah is, i can find her." Marcel shared "we don't have time. We have to make sure they can't get to Vasilisa so we can stop Lucien and Tristan's weapon from being activated." Elijah shared, stepping towards' him.

"Elijah.." Vasilisa told him "we need to find Rebekah." Marcel told him "Marcel, I will not rest until my sister is found." Elijah shared "all right. Fine. I'll look after Vasilisa." Marcel shared, walking toward's her "Elijah.." Vasilisa told him, as Elijah turned to her "I will handle the rest." he shared, as Marcel put his arm around Vasilisa, leading her out of there.

Marcel then wasn't letting Vasilisa out of his sight where she had slept at his house and the next morning had gone with him to saint Anne's church watching from up to as the vampires trained down below "you know Elijah wanted me to help keep you safe but how about I do you something better and get you out of town." Marcel shared, as Vasilisa scoffed"Dragomir's don't run, Marcel." she shared, turning and looking at him "so the only way I'm getting out of this town is by death or by force." she told him, stepping around him and walking out of there.

Making it to the compound, Vasilisa's heals clicked against the floor as she was wearing her sunglasses and holding her umbrella over her head, Klaus and Elijah turned around looking at her, as Aurora, Lucien and Tristan looked at her with wide eyes, Vasilisa smirked, bringing her umbrella down "I heard you were looking for me?" she asked, bringing her one hand and taking her sunglasses off "how about we all stop hiding and have a proper chat then?" she asked, raising her brows, and as she did, Elijah turned to the other three, holding his hand out to the dinner table, Aurora, Lucien and Tristan walked toward's it, Elijah, Klaus and Vasilisa then walked over.

Where the waiters soon brought them food as they walked off "it's a bit odd, isn't it, celebrating an American holiday?" Lucien asked "well, you know, Lucien, I rather enjoy thanksgiving..the turkey, the cranberry sauce, the lies, the deceit, the betrayal. Perhaps we should begin this evening's proceeding's with a little confession, and do help yourselves." Elijah shared "so this entire dinner is meant to be some boorish inquisition. How rude." Aurora shared "nonsense, luv, my brother merely wishes to make certain we're all on the same page, so who would like to begin?" Klaus asked.

"Well, Lucien and I have always loathed each other. Had we arrived as allies with news of a bleak future, you would have doubted us. We sought to remove suspicion by maintaining appearances." Tristan shared, as Vasilisa chuckled "you..you mustn't lie your heartbeat and your orange glowing aura are betraying you." she shared, as Elijah and Klaus laughed with her "the bottom line is, we came to protect you and ourselves. We have never wavered on this point." Lucien shared "and the bodies on our streets, is that your protection, as well?" Klaus asked "it's business as usual for the strix." Lucien shared.
