Chapter 6: Dreams and Visions

The scene opens with Ayame in the arena practicing his swings with a wooden sword, he catches Max just starring into the sky; to grab his attention he picks and throws a small pebble at Max, but no response was given so he walks up to him to break his concentration.

Ayame: Max, Max, MAX, snap out of it (saying this he vigorously shakes Max)

Max finally regains his consciousness and tries to catch his breath.

Ayame (a bit worryingly): What is it Max, are you okay?

Max (pants): What date is it?

Ayame: The 25th, why?

Max: Nothing, I'm fine.

Max

I did not know what was going on, was I dreaming? To find some answers I went to scour each book in the library, it was like history repeating itself, Ai was sitting there reading a book, and I had to find answers soon.

Ayame

Something was wrong with that boy, he had been acting very strange since our last sparring session, not knowing much about his clan or his past, I decided to send Suki to investigate it; maybe it was finally time to tell him about Aines.

Suki

Uncle Ayame had told me Max had been acting very strange since morning and so, I decided to ask him about it, I found him at the library glued to his book like always and went up to him.

Suki: Hey, Max.

Max: Yes, what is it?

Suki: could you spar with me in the arena?

Max: What? You know magic?

Suki: Of course, silly; I'm an elf.

Max: Okay then, let's see what you got.

Max

And just like that, we left for the arena; I was still wondering the purpose of the sudden invitation to a dual, but for now, I shall focus and try not to hurt her. As we reached, Uncle was also there to monitor the dual. He gave the both of us one wooden sword and started the match, we were at a large distance from each other but she managed to gain on me fast.

 In my defense, I blocked her attack with my sword and attack from my left hand by channeling mana and releasing a gust of wind to knock her back, she then rushed forward at an even faster speed but an unusual pattern, this made her slower but also lowered the chances of her getting hit. With no other choice left launched myself in the air and then took a risk.

Suki

As Max launched himself into the air, there was no way he could attack, so, I took my stance and went for his head; out of nowhere the air around him burst into flame and as they cleared, Max had a clear hit on me. He then kicked me to the ground and placed his sword upon my neck, I was defeated.

Ayame: ALRIGHT, MATCH OVER; MAXIMUS WON.

Suki: Max, how did you do that?

Max: How did I do what?

Suki: Hid inside a ball of fire without getting burned.

Max: It's a dual spell technique, a bit hard to cast.

Suki: Could you show me how?

Max: Fine then, (jokingly) but don't get frustrated if you don't get it.

Max and Suki take a carriage out of Conmoditas and go up a small hill away from civilization.

Suki (frustratingly): Argh, WHY AM I CASTING FIREBALL INSTEAD OF THIS STUPID SPELL.

Max: (sighs) I told you, it's alright, calm down.

Max: What you have to do is first create a barrier around you (proceeds to create a barrier around him), then say Molten Flame Barrier, say these words slowly for effect, and then finally light the barrier on fire (lights the barrier on fire).

Max: Well, that's basically it; you just have to visualize it.

Suki: But do I have to say the words?

Max: For the spell, no; for the effect, yes. Leave the spell, and improve your accuracy, I bet I can knock out more apples on this tree than you.

Suki: Oh, you're on.

Both of them use different kinds of spells to knock down apples and have fun together until Suki knocks down an apple and hears an 'ow'.

Max: Whose there?

???: That hurt, moron!!

From behind the tree emerged a familiar face, it was Louisa.

Max: Louisa Van Vamporia.

Louisa: Who are you both, and how do you know my name?

Max: I' am Maximus, and this is my friend Suki.

Suki: Hi, who are you

Lousia: As your friend Max said, my name is Louisa Van Vamporia, daughter of Vladimir Van Vamporia.

Lousia: Are you guys also going to the pa... (Suki interrupts her)

Suki: Lousia, could I talk to you for a second?

Max

Suki guides Louisa at a safe distance from me to make sure that I cannot hear their conversation, but I already guessed what it would be; I took the time to think of countermeasures for Azra's plan. After talking it out with everyone I felt more than ready for the party, I was ready to take Azra head-on.

Fast forward, we move on to the same scene; Max was given a surprise and the party had commenced; we then move on to the scene where Louisa was getting bullied by the three children.
